Disappointing, but its the hope that kills you, as they say!

More disappointing is reports of booing at full time, and seeing the old "Right, thats it, I'm not renewing my season ticket" being trotted out again.

Some of our fans really are a wee bit pathetic.

To be fair I think a lot of the boo's were aimed at the referee, who had a shocker. No doubts some were aimed at the team though, which yeah it was a disappointing result and 2nd half performance, but they are still unjustified.

There was a guy who called Canary Call after the game though and said something along the lines of "I've had a season ticket for 50 years but I didn't even both turning up to the game today", which I really don't understand seeing as after our last home games there were amazing scenes following the last-minute equaliser against Ipswich, and the only game we'd played in the meantime we drew away to the league leaders after playing really well and grabbing another last-minute equaliser. If you're gonna start not attending games it seems like an odd time to start.

As you say, we have some very strange fans to say the least.

Its a very odd thing. And very difficult to get your head round. I go home and away, so like to think I have a fairly balanced view, I see the progress that has been made under difficult circumstances of squad reshaping and having to cut our cloth financially, I can see what Farke and Webber are trying to do throughout the club, shaping a system that is played from youth right through to first team, and most of all I can see just how far we have come in a relatively short space of time. Its work in progress, and the improvements after the transfer window in January are obvious for all to see, you would think.

I live and breathe Norwich City, I follow all social media put out by the club, I read fans blogs and articles, I read forums, even the ones full of idiots ( ;) ) but I believe there are a large group of people that turn up at Carrow road every Saturday utterly oblivious to what is happening in and around the team, and literally judge what happens on what unfolds in the following 90 minutes as some kind of microcosm. Like away results and other things don't even matter, and like you say Din, we have an exciting game against the scum, take a very creditable away point at champions elect Wolves, but still theres grumbling? Without an ounce of perspective or understanding? It will be interesting to see how these folk judge the season, last season we were excellent at home, winning a lot of games, but the season was judged a failure. We are playing better football this season, but winning less at home, so will it be more, or less fo a failure? Are people really that fickle that its just all about the result and immediate gratification?

Am I in the right place for immediate gratification?

I think there are some encouraging signs but is there enough?

I think we need to see a couple of bigger steps forward before the end of the season.

How many times have City gone through a season unbeaten? Yet we get all screwed up when that poor result comes against a team in the bottom half of the league.
If a team is hoping for success, then dropping points against a bottom team is so much better than against your competitor at the top.
It's just psychology unfortunately.

Maybe i should have written off Olivieras scoring chances again.
Saying that I done exactly that for about 2 months and he didnt decide to prove me wrong.
Plus Ruddy wasnt in goal to let a speculative 40 yard shot in.

We are desperately missing a proper goalscorer.

After about 20 minutes Hernandez went to put in a cross that was cut out. Someone behind me shouted “ come on Hernandez that’s not good enough”. The bloke was 20 minutes into his debut

Din, the bloke on canary call. Once he finished moaning he admitted he’d only heard the second half on the radio as he’d been out walking his dog when the first half was being played ! :)

I didn't get to the game Saturday, but there is a massive feeling of 2 points dropped here, the amount of chances we had, we should have won comfortably.

Having said that, we are still on an unbeaten run, so definitely lots to be positive about! Remember we are in a transition period and I think next season we will really kick on and show the rest of the league what we are made of!
