Anyone explain

Since I changed to Windows 10 I have periods when I open a dialogue to reply and the remains of an unposted topic or even the remains of a person I have quoted appear instead with a red dotted line and an arrow.

Can anyone explain how I stop this happening?

Has happened to me occasionally on windows 7. Sorry no idea.
