Can't seem to find the option to add the fan since bit to my profile? Is it only enabled for mods?

It may have only been enabled for mods & admin by mistake, shall look into this for you Browno.
As an aside, I'm considering showing 'join date' too - is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Always like a join date, Twitter have started showing it on their profiles recently too.

browno, fixed this now, you should be able to see the field in profile settings.
