It looks like things are getting a bit panicky in Toonland. They've conceded more goals than us and their goal difference is only 3 better than ours. Howe is moaning about numerous refereeing decisions and the club is going to lodge a complaint to the PL about them. We have been on the wrong end of some appalling refereeing decision this season as well so get real Howe, it happens to all of us. Also, the lists of players the gossip columns keep linking them to seem to consist of players they haven't a hope in hell of getting or has-beens who other clubs want to get rid of. It will be interesting to see how all this pans out in January. They may be able to throw money at clubs re transfer fees and at players re wages but that doesn't mean they will turn things around. Even has-been players who are not wanted at top-half or mid-table PL clubs may not fancy a relegation battle, especially if they are sitting pretty on high wages. I have to be honest and say that my post-Farke optimism has been knocked back by the performance against Villa and relegation does appear to be on the cards, especially as I can't see us bringing in anyone of note. However, I do think Smith is a better coach than Howe (grossly over-rated IMHO) so it could be a helluva scrap between us and Toon. I also expect Ranieri to be gone by February if Watford keep losing and Leeds look to be in freefall too so they both will still be in the mix. Draw specialists Burnley could be the boys to scrape out of trouble .... again.
