Alex Neil's Stoke roll into town, in better form than we are in, and probably fancy their chances. Can't see too many changes from the lineup on Tuesday, hopefully Max is fit, he looked concussed when he came off.

I don't think it is an exaggeration to say that Dean has to win this, or he's gone, the form table does not make pretty reading.

I don't think it's a 'must win' for Dean, but it's certainly a 'must win' in terms of maintaining touch with the play-off places and regaining some confidence. Another defeat, particularly if we lose badly, would be not good at all.

I honestly think if we lose, the crowd will turn badly, and he'll go.

Maybe. Two defeats and I think he is definitely on his way.
I posted that form table on Twitter and a few people were genuinely shocked, I think I assumed we would be around the bottom, but to see just how bad we have been in the last 6 weeks was quite shocking. I am usually pretty pragmatic and patient when it comes to such things, but whatever you think of Smith, you really can't ignore those stats.

Well looks like the atmosphere on Saturday could be on the tasty side. The club has unleashed an absolute shit storm! They knocked out a club produced video on Canaries TV, which gave some criticism towards the fans and it HAS NOT gone down well.

Saturday could well be akin to the day Hughton got sacked.

I'm guessing you're referring to the Financial chappy, I hadn't bothered watching it til I saw your post.
His comments about the crowd at Carra are bizarre to say the least, as you say it will be interesting on Saturday.
What struck me though was how woeful his speaking to camera was. It wasn't live tv, it was an in house interview with the associated opportunities to practice and polish to perfection yet it seems he could hardly speak a whole sentence in English without regression or word whiskers.
Absolutely amateur I'm afraid, how it was allowed to be published like that is beyond me.
Strange times

DS: "Sam McCallum will train after playing the full 90. Ben Gibson should train today, Sam Byram will train. We're nursing Sarge's calf so we'll see how he is as well. Kieran Dowell is fit and well now as well."

DS: "If you don't feel pressure as a manager, I don't think you're in the right job. Every time you lose a game you feel responsible." Says he doesn't feel any extra pressure at the moment.

DS: "I've improved every team I've been at, and I believe I'll improve this one."

DS: "The players are on board. We have to move forward as a football club, learning to win, learning to play the right way, and we certainly will."

DS: "People have said we've gone off track from Daniel (Farke). I think if you asked Daniel, he'd say Brentford and Aston villa were tough teams to play against. You don't get head hunted for playing boring football. I accept responsibility for results."

DS: "I want the fans behind us. I accept responsibility for the results and I accept criticism. I wouldn't be here in this job if I didn't. We will improve."

DS: "When things aren't going well, people are there to be shot at. Last season it unfairly was Stuart (Webber). This season it's me. I'll take it on my shoulders."

DS: "You lose confidence when you lose games. You can see that with Liverpool at the moment. I'm big enough and brave enough to take the burden and protect the players, because they deserve it. A lot of them should be held in very high esteem for what they've done for #NCFC."

DS: "Every coach wants more leaders. That's what we're all craving for."

DS: "Stoke are a good team, they've got good players, a good manager. It's a game we're looking forward to."

DS: "I understand the frustrations. I'm frustrated. We want to be playing great football and creating 15/16 chances every game but the reality is we're not doing that at the moment. We have to stick together at times like this. There's misperceptions there about what we're trying to do."

DS on fans and atmosphere: "It's their choice. We're not going to take away that choice. But successful teams have a support that gets behind them. We're all frustrated. The players do need them."

DS: "I was very impressed with Sam McCallum's performance against Burnley. Jonathan Tomkinson came in and put in a really assured display in his first start. It just shows the football club's in a good place."

I think I would describe that presser as "bullish".
That's exactly the word that came into my head when I read Smith's comments. Comments which often tell us that a person knows the game is up and will say anything to 'justify' the current situation. The torches are definitely going to be lit very soon I think .....

Not feeling too great today. Me knackered ol' body is playing it's usual tricks. I will decide later if I am going to go to the match. If I don't get there it'll just be me, the sofa and Chris Goreham ..... I know how to have a good time.
