I think Ashley Barnes is a good start. I mean, if we'd have got him 2-3 years ago when we were in the Prem I'd have thought he'd be a good addition to the squad whereas now I think he's someone we need. But we are where we are.

Hopefully we have learnt from the last year or two and we will be signing "proven" players. Players that have proven they can cut it in at least the Champs.

It's been quite clear from recent comms that we are drumming up interest in Big Andy and Max and want to rake in as many dollar bills as we can.

For me, Big Andy is not as exciting as Godfrey was. So if we can cash in on him I'd take it.

I'd like to keep Max. I'm not convinced by the narrative of him needing a fresh challenge. In my opinion, he has suffered since Buendia left by not having that quality operator and established partnership.

I want to post more but my missus is nagging me to get off my phone.

I think that we changed our transfer policy to try and suit both divisions, ie buying players that could get you promoted, but are also good enough to stay in the premier league. It clearly didn't work, so I think we will be solely focusing on players to get us promoted, and worry about the prem if it happens.

Dowells at Rangers then
Good player but only really good in the number 10 spot, which is where I presume they want to continue to play Cantwell, bit of an odd move really unless Cantwell will end up out wide due to Ryan Kent leaving, which frees up that central spot for Dowell.

He should do well in the SPL. Lets face it, if you are a half decent Championship player then you are a good SPL player.

Shane Duffy, 31 year old defender from Fulham. Makes sense, we won't be seeing Hanley back anytime soon.

But with Andy O leaving we're left with a selection of old gits at the back.

I prefer " experienced " to "old". The average age in our team was 24 this season, so we need some experienced heads. And re Andy, this what we do to survive, we develop young players, then we sell them on.

Still early too, we've yet to see the other players coming in.

I think it could be an interesting summer, and calling it now, I think we could do okay next season.

I quite like the idea of importing a new experienced spine, 1 each area of the pitch.

Barnes up front, Duffy at centre back, and somebody in centre midfield - Ben Pearson I quite like the idea of.

If Krul is off this summer then I'd add an experience keeper also having let McGovern go too. Joe Lewis is 35 has been in and out of the team at Aberdeen this season so might see it as a decent time to come home and do the McGovern role for a couple of years?

Rumours Everton selling Godfrey this summer. Coupled with Leicester selling Maddison (I assume) we could be in for a sell on windfall.

Steady on. What is happening? NCFC signing a 6ft 4" centre half who can defend and who is good in the air? Has someone finally woken up from a bad dream?

Not the Ben Pearson who, playing for Bournemouth, faked an injury and got one of our players sent off? No Thanks. Why should Krul be off in the summer when Mrs Krul is allegedly very settled here? I see that we have reverted to type buying yet another winger, if Tom ince comes.
