I love Martin Olsson. Best player by a Norfolk mile last season. Only player to be consistently great for the whole season, rather than in fits and starts. Travesty and attackers bias that he didnt get POTS. Would love him to stay and wouldnt personally let him go for less than 8m. Where did he come in the POTS vote?

Very good player for us last season, but am i right in believing the Blackburn fans mentioning his heart was never quite in it after they got relegated and was not the same player?

They certainly made out he was over-rated and claimed not to be too bummed to be losing him when he signed for us. I didnt know much about him so took that at face value and generally assumed he was pretty average, but once he got in the team I never gave poor Garrido another thought. It may well be Blackburn fans felt that way for the reasons you state, but I felt after seeing how good he was it must be nothing other than sour grapes

Every club's fans start making out that players are crap once they've left.

Has to be a priority to keep him. Do feel bad for Garrido as he could have done a job for us in the Prem, but a far way off MO's ability.

No disrespect but do you believe every player we have sold been crap? Not every fan has that attitude and as we have witnessed, he is far from crap. What the Blackburn fans were concerned about was his attitude towards Championship football and how his performances reflected that, and that was before he had signed

No I don't, but I tend to try and be rational. Leeds fans laid into every player they sold us and said they were rubbish, yet before the deal was done they all said we couldn't have them because they were too good.

It happens with every transfer, hence loads of our fans ripping into Snodgrass just after voting him player of the season.

How have we gone from Olsson, to Leeds fans and player of the season awards :) I honestly get what you are saying and obviouly you do get those from some on websites that tend to come under the sour grapes group, but at the same time you therefore have to believe there are rational thinkers as well. I suspect there are many instances over our history, where players have not peformed at their best after relegation, Dean Ashton possibly falls into that category.

Could I go on record as having repeatedly slagged Snodgrass off pre-transfer please? OK not our worst player, but having him was always a double-edged sword

The only precedent that I can think of for similar incidents in English football are Di Canio (11 match ban) and Prutton (10 match ban).

I don't know how they calculate the bans for these things, but Olsson could be facing a long one - what an idiotic thing to do.

Really? I remember the Di Canio one, the ref went flying. Surely the FA will view this as inappropriate but non-aggressive - I expect a 1 or 2 game ban, still a pretty stupid thing to do.

Very stupid thing to do and it will either be a 2-3 game suspension, or they will make an example of him and throw a 8-10 game suspension his way.

He did put his hands on the ref, but I wouldnt classify it as an aggressive push. Depends if the FA want to keep that clear balck and white distinction, zero tolerance. I would expect a 2 or 3 game ban to be proportional and he can probably have no excuses. Any more would be very harsh, but he's left himself wide open. Its not a push in my book, but technically it is, and the FA may want to reinforce that no contact is acceptable. Wonder how much of it depends on the referees report? ie how much the ref makes a big deal out of it?

We really need to be robust and fend off Swansea if the rumours are to be believed. Olsson is arguably our best player

Talking to some Swansea fans on another forum, they say there's not much truth in the Olsson rumour. Although they are after a left back apparently, but Kyle Naughton appears to be the main target.

Can't really see it myself. With him on a long contract and with inflated January fees it really doesn't feel like a Swansea move. Not to mention he has hardly set the Champs on fire this season.
