Get rid of him ASAP. He's too mistake-prone, throws in the towel too easily and his attitude stinks.

Disagree. Got a bad rep last season because people didn't like him as captain and needed a scapegoat. Was no worse than anyone else. There is absolutely no evidence that "his attitude stinks".

If he had a good attitude would he be training with the kids?

That could just be that the manager doesn't want him. Does Grant Holt's attitude stink? Because he's training with the Wigan kids.

Apples and oranges. Holt is at the end of his career, Bassong should be fighting for a starting position. Do you really think Adams is just a big meanie, keeping out Bassong for no good reason?

It's not apples and oranges at all, Wigan don't want Holt and we apparently don't want Bassong. I don't think Adams is "a big meanie" I just don't think he wants him. Which is bizarre considering we're insisting on playing Russell Martin at Centre Back. If he's a CB I'm the pope.

Forgive me Father for I have sinned.

Martin is an excellent CB and getting too slow to play at RB hence his conversion (bit like Splutcho's)

Bassong meanwhile has a known problem with attitude, hence his inability to make a decent career at former clubs.  For me he was in my top 3 to get rid of, and the only one left!

If we can't offload his (obviously big) wages then we should really try keep him motivated and use him. He's a good player and would be more than a match for any championship Centre Forward. I doubt he's here long though as it strikes me as odd that we're not even trying to utilise the most naturally talented defender we have at the club (bar Olsson)

My only disappointment of the window is that he's still here. No one else wants him so we're stuck with him and his big sulk. Hopefully we can send him out on loan to a League 1 club or something.

Disappointed we couldn't get rid of him, but so far his presence hasn't really affected us. Hopefully that remains the same.

Adams opens door for Bassong

If he's genuinely considering him back into the first team picture and they've cleared the air I'll be delighted. We are a far better side for having him in the team.

I would be more than happy for him to come back as long as he's patched everything up. Since Ryan Bennett's injury we haven't had a solid centre back partner for Michael Turner. Bassong could certainly offer that.

If there is a way back then it needs to be taken by him and the club.

I keep hearing people go on about how bad he was last season but I still don't think he was.I would say there are players (popular players) in the team this season who were weaker links than Bassong last season. But because they don't have that "bad attitude" image their shortcomings have been overlooked.

How many better central defences do you see in the Championship than the one we could potentially have with Turner and Bassong?

Rumour going round that he's apparently set to sign for Watford on loan.

That would be INCREDIBLY stupid.
Seeing as Watford squeezed us out of Automatic Promotion, it seems that move to strengthen them did prove costly as we feared. Luckily it all worked out in the end
