I thought Wes would definitely not be a City player at the start of the season but he looks to be settled and central to Neyull's plans. I'm still annoyed about the whole shithouse club thing but I'm delighted he's staying.
Wes has proved me wrong, I thought we should have got rid of him to Villa when we had the chance. He has been magnificent in the last two games particularly last night where Blackburn couldn't cope with his trickery.
Wes has been called up for Republic of Ireland duty next month, that's great for him but really would prefer him taking a break during the international break. Purely selfish reasons of course
"He ran the show when he was on the pitch. We have no one even close to having the creativity he has, and the worst thing about it is that we've known this for about 5 seasons"
Certainly don't agree that the best of his football is behind him, he's the type that will perform well until his legs go.
Funny that he mentions him being put out on the wing early on in his career. I think every manager here has done that. Even Adam, the man who watched all of the other managers attempt and fail at it.
I do wonder if we'd have stayed in the premier league last time if Wes had been starting ahead of Elmander. Whilst there were a few I always thought our biggest problem under Hughton was static state of our forward players.
If Hoolahan scored more goals from open play I think a bigger club than us would have snapped him up a long time ago. Especially in seasons where 4231 is the meme formation.
Perhaps he has sufferred from football fashion. When he was at his peak a lot of clubs were still playing 4-4-2. And I really don't think he has the attributes to play in a 4 man midfield.
Not sure if I agree with the "Doomed to play out his career at Norwich" line lol.
