As an oldie the first game i remember playing was Pong, can't remember what the machine was called though??? It basically had 2 other games on it, a so called football and tennis game, both looked alike really :)  The first console i can remember though (in fact it was a very early form of computer) was the ZX Spectram and the pesky tapes which seemed to take about an hour to run and then it would be hit or miss as to whether it would load, happy times. :D

I had a Master System for a bit, then a Megadrive - only game I can remember owning is Sonic and Knuckles, although I'm sure I owned others. Then I got an N64 and can remember being blown away by it at the time, Goldeneye 64 and Diddy Kong Racing were my favourite games. Have never owned another console since, asides from technical half ownership of a Nintendo Wii which my wife bought for a work out game (never played the thing). I'm a PC man.

I was thinking about buying an N64 recently, may get one and start collecting the old cartridges again.

I desperately wanted a Spectrum but my dad wasn't having it, as it didn't have a proper keyboard (this was back in the day when people wanted computers for serious things, nothing so trivial as games) so we bought a Dragon 32, which had some pretty good games as it happens, including Donkey Kong. Loaded on tape cassette of course lol. My first actual proper console was a megadrive.

ZX Spectrems you could put in a cassette go outside have a game of footie come back load cassette 2 read abook then you were finally ready to play but normally your mum would shout that tea was ready and to turn that game off

Amiga 600 with Sensible Soccer, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Street Fighter and a load of others my Uncle had 'shared' onto disks with me. I remember Street Fighter needing 4 disks to load in random order each time!

Didn't get a console until I got a Playstation with Crash Bandicoot!

Started with an Atari 2600 when I was about five (mainly Pac-Man and Pitfall),then got a ZX Spectrum +3 when I was nine (loved that machine),moved onto a SNES and Amiga a few years later, then through the PS1 and N64, then the PS2, and old 486 DX/66 PC, Dreamcast and Gamecube, finally onto my PS3, Wii and current PC.

I had a Commodore Vic 20 that my Dad got from a carboot sale first. Tapes that took forever to load and needed a cryptic set of commands to get it to do anything. A lot of the time it just didnt work.

Then I had an Atari 2600, before moving up to a NES and then a Sega Mega Drive. I got the SNES when that came out, and that was the final console I ever had. Been Laptop since then

Atari 2600... folks got it with a handful of games, but the first one I bought with my own money was Yar's Revenge.

My younger brother later got an NES and we both played it a lot, and he later got some other systems after I'd moved on to college... but I was (and still am) always more of a pinball player than video games.
