I like the look of this team, and at least Neil is finally trying something didn't. Just a shame it's come quite a few weeks too late.

Depending on which was you look at it, Neil is almost in a no-lose situation here. He tries something different today and we lose the game then he can point to the players being the problem rather than the tactics or formation, but if it works and we win the game then he gets more time to turn it around. Not the way I see it personally but certainly a way it can be viewed.

I like the system change. Not sure about the personel, but I like the fact that we are at least trying something different.

Pritchard hasn't been great tonight and we do look like we are playing a little slow or scared but I hope they stick with it and try to pick up the pace.

Poor overall again tonight, but some flashes of decent play. Is it enough to suggest AN is the man to lead us? Not for me. We looked lacklustre for large proteins of the game and let's not forget that Adams was forced out when we slipped to 11th. We have just climbed back up to 12th with a disappointing draw at Brentford. Time for a change (he said with absolutely no belief we will see one).

Better, but still not brilliant, although to be honest I don't think we can blame Neil too much. If Cameron Jerome sticks one of the chances he got away then we get a good win away from home. Thought we looked pretty decent defensively and it's really hard to work out why Neil left Klose out of the team for so long. Jerome though, honestly pitiful. If that chance where Pinto pulled it back for him falls to Oliveira instead then we score.

As for the red card, ridiculous decision. Brady's studs are maybe up slightly but it is a yellow card at the very most. From that moment on any chance we had of winning the game was gone. Surely we'll appeal that? Even if we do though will the decision be made before Monday's game? Shame as well because although he got caught out a couple of times defensively I thought Brady had his best game for a long time.

Overall we probably deserved the win, but lack of quality in front of goal cost us. Can't remember Ruddy having to make a save. Needed a win today and didn't get it. Alex Neil still needs to go.

wanted to see this formation ages ago, back in prem actually, our wingbacks are a liability defensively and this mitigates that issue, alot of our concessions have been from diagonal balls to the flanks.

Much more solid display, but against a poor Brentford, however we should of had a 3+ nill win tonight if not for the Cameron Jerome (his first season with us is proviing the exception to the rule).

Pritchard was to periphery for most of the match (came into it last 10 mins before sending off),we missed howson centrally, I would like to see him come in for either centre mid and Wes for Pritchard.

Alex problems are still the lack of squad rotation / management and a stubborness in approach but least the latter was addressed last night.

I still think if you want to get rid of him you have to get rid of a lot more team/backroom wise and as thats not going to happen and they seem to want to give him more time, lets see where this goes I guess.  The only way I can see him rectifying the situation is if he is allowed to freshen up the squad in Jan, im talking 3/4 in 3/4 out.  If they arent going to do that I dont see what the point of more time is.

Part of me thinks, there are good attributes to Alex and a lot of what we see as wrong are things he is going to learn from, so why shouldnt we stick with him and benefit from that, but then he might not learn / take to long.  I guess my thoughts are, we have invested so much time in him, to see him go on and be successfull else where would be a little galling after that.  For all his faults, which are two really, they are things you can go on to do differently but might be too late here, I guess thats the risk you take with in experience.

Got to know when to cut your losses.

AN will get other jobs but he won't get a better one than this.

Yep may well be,  the eternal question,  stick or twist.  He's bought himself some time now though.
