Is it me or is this forum gradually going quieter and quieter.

I enjoy the more reasoned views on here compared to some of the trolling nonsense you get on the Pink Un. But if the forum does not remain fairly active I fear it will go into terminal decline.

Hopefully the traffic stats will prove my view wrong, but I doubt it,

And yes, like you say, use it. If you hear some news and nobody has started a thread, post it yourself!

Yes, big decline in October's overall traffic stats when compared with September. Don't know the exact figure without looking, but rough estimate would be views down 30%, and number of posts down 40%.

I'm not really sure how to stimulate the place, I've only ever sent out one mass email (approximately 70% of members are opted in), so an excuse to send an email out would be one way to try and revive it and get a few members logging back in I suppose.

Ultimately though, 334 members isn't a great number. Not long after launch I ran some facebook ads which helped pick up quite a few new members, but it proved expensive.

Ironically you have posted this just as things have seemingly picked up a little though, after the 4-0 defeat.

I've actually thought about going to an away game and dishing out some flyers to anybody wearing yellow, but the problem with that is that they will all check the site on their phones at the ground and just see the crappy blue/grey mobile site by default. That's a big problem with this site, so many visitors will have seen that mobile site and been turned off immediately.

I think that IP board 4.0 (hopefully end of this year / early next) will give me the opportunity to do a 'relaunch' and a subsequent email out to all members and to hit twitter and facebook again to generate interest, because we are way past the point where I can call this a "new Norwich City forum", plus the new site will be fully responsive (no crappy mobile site necessary).

There was no easy way to reach Norwich supporters to make them aware of this site upon launch. I couldn't do a press release, because all of the local media is owned by Archant. I couldn't spam the Pink'un because it got instantly deleted, and I wouldn't have been able to buy an ad on Radio Norfolk because the BBC don't do ads. Facebook ads proved to cost too much per signup gained. Happy to spend a little bit of money now and again, but it is a hobby site at the end of the day, I can't invest a fortune in ads - have got a pension which needs contributions and a student loan to repay like everybody else!

If anybody has any ideas then I'm all ears!

I'm hardly a prolific poster but the last 4-5games, except last nights, has hardly inspired a multitude of discussion points.  Not forgetting international break, 1/2 term being busy with the kids

The specific match thread do seem to cover more expansive points pre/post going to 4 pages

If Adams picks the same back 4 and gets a similar result vs Forest I can see a number of unique threads being created calling for his head, criticising players, questioning the board

We did also have a run of 7 games in 22 days in September, which was a fairly busy time if I remember. Not been quite that level of fixture congestion in October.

Also a few recent midweek away games with no streams available, people are quite rightfully reluctant to say much when they haven't been able to watch a game.

My intention behind this thread was to stimulate/encourage use.

I feel if existing members were to start a few more threads, that in itself might help pick things up. If the forum looks active more will be encouraged to join.

If it is any consolation, the Pink Un also seems quiter to me as well.

I did have a little look at the Pink'un late last night, seemed to be dozens of threads started in the wake of the 4-0 defeat all saying pretty much the same thing, but most with just 2 or 3 replies. We definitely have a shortage of threads started here, but those which are at least tend to get some mileage.

Certainly a few early posters lost though, I enjoyed reading Skijumptoes posts. He was active early on but I've not seen him for quite some time!

Can anybody think of a good reason to send a mass email? If we lose to Forest perhaps I'll start an Adams In / Out debate with a poll, and email it, tweet it, and facebook it, see if we can get a few members to log in. But I'd much rather we just didn't lose to Forest.

If our fortunes on the pitch don't improve then I suspect things will get a bit heated on the Pink'un and a few will seek refuge over here.

Generally been a quite period,  even the Pink Un has had a reduction in threads lately (until last night).  We weren't playing as many Saturday/Tuesdays as we were the previous month, and the generally flat performances have probably left some us of a bit tired of it all.  

But you're right, this page does need a few more regular members to keep it alive.  It very much seems to be a small group who are active

Despite the "kicking" we got from some on the Supporters Trust thread, we gained much useful information as to how we are perceived. This is certainly the place for serious discussion and the Trust will advertise and recommend it on our website and via our Twitter account. Hope that brings in more "readers".

Yes, I've been guilty of not posting, probably as there's not been too much to talk about lately! I always visit though as there is always a good discussion here and not the usual trolling/hating/bullying. PinkUn posters just rant, and some of the things I read on WoTB are offensive, completely out of order and are obviously not moderated. I really hope this site is better supported, I certainly appreciate reading a more balanced view of things. Will get into the habit of posting more!

Definitely a case of not much to talk about with supposedly unlucky narrow defeats or draws we supposedly deserved to win. I think if we fall any lower in the table or climb much higher then there'll be more to talk about.

Good point by the OP, I will try to post more.  Until last night, there had been quite a few games that were very same-ish with City on top and creating loads of chances but failing to win, so it was hard to say very much when it was a case of "same again".

Having said that, when I look at the Pinkun and if you discount the trolling threads by Waveney Canary and also if you ignore some completely daft threads, the level of activity is about the same as here I'd say.  But obviously the Pinkun is always at its busiest after a bad defeat which says it all really.

I don't know how to reply to this. The only post I originated had about 5 replies. It was regarding the survey of football and the value supporters were getting. I thought it would be a major talking point and was surprised I had to start the topic. I thought to myself that if that doesn't get people "talking" then nothing will.

But i realise that if you live in or around Norwich then you probably do get a good coverage each and every day. Down here in Cornwall, apart from my son and a couple of grandsons, no-one talks about NCFC. I need a forum to get my fix.

Pin is now firmly planted. I live in Redruth. Red meaning River and Ruth meaning Red!!!???? The Cornish and Irish come from the same seed.

Unfortunately Mr Fever doesn't say what part of the Duchy he resides in. Mr Brompton is actually a Janner, residing across the Tamar River in Plymouth.

As someone who usually only accesses this site through the mobile option, one comment I would make is seeing the same 3 or 4 posts pinned at the top means you have to page down to see fresh content. This can be a tad tedious.
