Yes, it is winnable.....BUT, have to say that it depends on which Norwich City and which Southampton turn up, obvious thing to say I know, but really is one of those games. Southampton have a team stacked with quality, who on their day can probably beat any team in this league, as was shown vs. Arsenal, but they also have a strange inconsistency and are not great away.

For City, play like we did vs Villa and I really cannot see us getting anything, however, play like we did in the second half vs Everton and Arsenal and in patches vs Manure, then I can see a point or three, but that's all obvious isnt it!

All I know, is that I will once again be very happy with the three points with another relatively dour, but hard fought performance........although, because of the way I have seen Southampton play, I actually am expecting a decent quality match this time, along with the three points.

We certainly can't let southampton have the amount of time and space we gave Villa

I doubt there will be much change in our tactics. I don't particularly like them but can't argue when we win however uninspiring the match itself is. Of course I can when we lose but that is the beauty of supporting not managing.

I feel our current tactics aren't getting the full potential out of our better creative players but concentrating on covering the less gifted. Hopefully, the window will alter the personnel and the tactics.

Saints haven't moved on from last year but if we sold half our team and didn't replace them we would be bottom of the table. Neither club needs telling a win would send them into the Cup with renewed confidence and it certainly is a chance for to open a gap on the real strugglers.

Unlike many, I am not a Mbokani fan as I think the only ability he has better than Jerome is aerial and think there was a slight overreaction to his general contribution on Saturday. And if he isn't in the box and gets no crosses I don't think he holds it up like Jerome. But he scored last match and that is good enough for another run.

They appear to be as variable as us,  you never know which side is going to appear;   if they are on their game it will be tough.     But so it will be for them if we start the game well.   For me this is a winnable game if we want it enough and we should approach is determinedly confident.

We will have to pass and hold on to the ball far better than we did against the Villains.   But as against the Villa it will all be about the result and hoping for at least a draw

I don't think that AN will have forgotten the away no show v Saints, and he'll be preparing the players and letting them know that he won't accept that again. Winnable? I think so, hoping the old head O'Neil is fit, I feel he has a big role to play in this game

Even more of a "must win" than Villa was? Win and its a real chance to stretch away from the mire, lose and it would feel like a step backwards.

this is a key aspect of the southampton game, what tactics etc will AN employ, how will he approach this game considering the debacle earlier in the season.

I think, in a lot of ways, this is more important than Villa.

Win, and with other games going our way and we could be comfortably mid table.

Says a lot to players potentially signing in January.

Has 1-1 draw written all over it for me!

but you're right Morty, IF we could pick up three points (and Villa and Sunderland draw!) then what a three points it would be...especially with away games at Stoke and Bournemouth to follow...

4 points from the next three games would be hunky dory for me, not too fussed how we get 'em!

Looking at the fixtures, I am hopeful of thirteen more points by the end of February. March could be dry but April could well yield another 9. And that will be safety. Easy I know but you have to be confident and I hope the whole club can kick on from here. Good signings in the next four weeks and the squad working even harder.

Happy New Year!!

I think a win is within our grasp here. My son saw Saints at West Ham and said they were poor. Shane Long is buzzing at the moment and he's always done well at Carrow Road. I expect we will see one unlikely choice by Neil. I'm guessing Vadis or Mulumbu.

Oh and after his sneaky shameful activities at theirs, I would enjoy seeing Tadic go in the camera pit.

Winning this one would be massive. I'm more nervous after the demolition of arsenal

But yes. We can do this one. if bassong is back on song our defence could maintain its recent progreas. That will give us a real chance

Actually quite a big game really. A win could put real distance between us and the bottom 3. It will be difficult but Southampton have been inconsistant this season so a win here isn't impossible.

Team:

Rudd
Martin Bennett Bassong Olsson
Redmond Howson Tettey Brady
Hoolahan
Mbokani

If Wisdom is fit then I'd probably sooner see him come in for Martin. Don't think he will do though.

No idea what the score will be to be honest, so just gonna say a draw. 2-2.

I'm convinced that we are underplaying the importance of the manner of the loss to Southampton earlier this season.

If you are AN, I suspect that you would be stressing to the players how important a good performance is tomorrow.

He will not want to be doubled by Southampton, and the players will have that ringing in their ears when the game starts.

We could easily win this game.

Only beaten them once in the last 10 outings and I do believe that certain clubs tend to have "indian signs" over others. But we turned over Villa after a poor record against them in recent seasons so maybe the same may happen tomorrow.

For me, can't give space at the back for their pace to exploit.

Well Southampton certainly have more idea than Villa! Hopefully we step it up a bit second half, as otherwise I fear we will lose this to a Southampton side who look sharper than us going forward.
