Should Leo VEGAS be the NCFC sponsor ?
Do NCFC want to be associated with such a seedy business?

Old news this isn't it? this was done to death when they first came up. Whether gambling is 'seedy' is a matter of personal preference, as is fast food. Don't see too many people getting hot under the collar when Macdonalds sponsor something.

I have some insider info on this that I, unfortunately can't divulge.

Watch this space.....

(And I recognise how annoying it is when someone knows something but won't tell lol)

He may be referring to a few articles recently about some unethical practices which are being investigated.

But personally I'd like us to get to the point in the future where gambling advertising in football is limited / restricted, and banned entirely from the front of shirts.

E.g. a club can have one official 'betting partner' who is allowed one standard size sponsorship board on each of the four sides of a pitch.

Football clubs and gambling companies have become too reliant on each other.

The ban on cigarette advertising didn't destroy F1 did it? Can remember when you had cars with Marlborough in big letters on the back.

I remember well the Black and Gold John Player Lotus cars winning everything too Canaryboy.

From the article it doesn't look to me as though LeoVegas are any worse than any of them. Any addict will try and fund their addiction in any way they can whether it's gambling, booze, drugs you name it.

I'm a bit torn on things like this because I don't want liberty restricted and don't like the 'nanny state'.

But I work for a retail bank and one of the departments I go into as an analyst is colldctions... Where I see for myself how arrears occur and I swear gambling is the number one cause.

Perhaps it should be gambling companies who are funding all the major the debt charities instead of financial service companies, and perhaps gamblers should be taxed on their winnings to help mitigate the problems they cause if they develop a problem and then end up costing society.

Also we can't claim to be a family club whilst helping expose a new generation of kids to the world of online gambling which they grow up thinking must be harmless because their heroes are happy to have it plastered on their shirts.

How would you feel if a club was sponsored by YouPorn?

Personally I think footballs link with gambling has gone too far. Although probably wishful thinking that things could change... We go after all play in the Sky bet Championship and hoping to get promoted to a league which is basically funded by Sky TV.... Who help prop up their betting arm by running rumours on Sky sports and their website.
