Lots of things really. The way in which we play football has differed immensely from game to game this season, as have the formations and tactics. Norwich have played 4-2-3-1 for most of Farke's tenure but that's been ditched to shoehorn in certain players. No wonder the players don't look organised. They are unfamiliar with the way they are being asked to line up.

I think last time in the Premier league our biggest issue was that we were predictable. This was mainly due to a weak squad meaning that we couldn't change things when we wanted to, and also the ridiculous defensive injury crisis meaning that we couldn't switch to a back 3, if we wanted to. If these players want to be Premier league players then they need to be able to follow instructions given by the manager, and they need to be switched on for 90+ minutes. For me most of the issues have been individual errors rather than formation issues, but I do feel Farke got it wrong against Watford, I'm not saying he is infallible.

But again it comes back to the earlier point that Farke has only seen a few of these players for about 3 weeks in training. That said, they are all big boys, and have played football before, so will have some idea about differing formations. The good thing with us having a stronger squad is that we haven't needed to play anyone wildly out of position. Yet.

That's not really how it works though, is it? You don't suddenly get richer, you just pay out more in overheads and wages. And if you finish 4th from bottom every single other club that finished above you immediately has more money to spend straight away. We have become financially comfortable through being run well and scouting and developing good players, that we get money for. Not from our forays into the Prem.
But obviously after expenses, you have more cash in the Prem than the Championship. The turnover in the Championship is tiny.
More to spend on improving the squad or facilities etc, whatever you use it for, there are more opportunities.

Definitely not the golden honeypot some people say it is, or we wouldn't need parachute payments.

Plus, obviously, the fact our owners don't put any cash in themselves means we are always behind every single other club, in terms of spend.

You're missing my point.
I'm not comparing NCFC to other teams.
I'm comparing Premier League NCFC with Championship NCFC.

Not really, my point remains that we cannot adequately financially compete with other Premier league teams. Are we making the same, rather obvious point?

It just seems obvious to me that despite the extra costs, it's more profitable to be in the Prem than the Championship.
As I've mentioned before on this site, I believe our squad is good enough to survive in the Prem, it's the tactics Farke employs which make us more vulnerable than we need to be.

Let's hope we sneak a messy win this afternoon, Chris Brown with an own goal.

When I've seen Burnley play past couple of months, they've seemed to be lucky not to get players sent off. I reckon we'll have either an injury or a Burnley red card.

To be fair though Watford have had mostly Premier League football during this time. Maybe the chopping and changing of managers can help...

I have been to nearly all the home matches this season and am fed up with all the 'Farke out' comments etc ..... it was obvious on Saturday that improvements been made by the coaching staff ..... the defence was solid, the midfield played with more cohesion and (apart from some poor finishing) the strikers linked well with that midfield ..... Pukki and Sargent worked their behinds off and with a bit more confidence when it comes to finishing I feel sure goals will come ..... Sargent has received a lot of stick from some keyboard warriors but his performance yesterday was sound ..... he was tireless in his pressing and got into some great positions, I know he missed a sitter but, as I said, with more confidence goals will come ...... the much criticised (by the same keyboard warriors) Grant Hanley also impressed, as did his defensive colleagues ...... Brighton are in the top 4 and in excellent form and it was NCFC who made them look ordinary ...... the team is starting to gel which is why Farke probably played an unchanged side ..... it's all very well saying stuff like 'Gilmour should be in'. 'where's Cantwell?' and 'we miss Buendia' but the situation is as it is ..... the team over the past 2 matches has played well and kept clean sheets ..... also, Buendia has been rubbish for Villa all season according to my mate who is a Villa fan, so the grass isn't always greener ...... City have some good players, they have a good manager and a board that is keeping the club out of the financial mire ..... NCFC may be bottom of the league but that league is the Premier League, not the Championship or League 1 ...... in this age of financial clout being so important in football and of people wanting everything now instead of waiting for things to develop NCFC could have given in and spent multi-squillion pounds on the squad and still ended up bottom of the league ..... be grateful for what you have, a team that is in the Premier League and fighting hard to stay there ..... the last time City went up it was all about Sheff Utd and how great they were ..... this time it's all about Brentford ..... look where Sheff Utd are today, 15th in the Championship ...... who's to say that Brentford won't be in the same position in a couple of years with NCFC back (or still) in the Premier League ..... as the late, great Jimmy Greaves once said ''it's a funny old game is football'' ...... I may be viewed by some as a 'Happy Clapper' but I say keep the faith ..... OTBC

Can't disagree with much of that, but I guess the million dollar question is can it improve quick enough?

That said if you see the situation as we have bought good players, but Farke hasn't had enough time with them yet, and your answer is to sack him and bring someone else in, then that seems daft to me. Its annoying as everyone (I would hope) knows the financial constraints we work under, that ain't gonna change with a new manager. We are where we are, we have what we have. All we can do is hope...

1) Brighton were struggling with injuries, it wasn't their full strength team
2) Why didn't Farke get these changes in place, ready to go for the first game of the season?
We knew that we needed additions to the defence / defensive midfield months ago.

Hasn't this been already explained? We had to wait until the price was right, or until players were available.

Also the lack of pre season could hardly be blamed on anyone?
