It's probably best not to ignore the injuries and form of those teams we got a point against.
Burnley had been struggling and didn't have all their best players available, they've found form now and Cornet, for instance, is back.
Brighton had many injuries to their fairly light squad when we played them.

Fair points but you can only play against what's in front of you and City were defensively sound against Burnley and they made Brighton look ordinary. I think it's a shame that people look for reasons against why we got two half-decent results instead of the positives that achieved them.

a little bit of perspective perhaps re NCFC's current form given some of today's results ..... a 0-0 draw for NCFC at Burnley looks good compared to Brentford's 3-1 defeat at Turf Moor ..... a 0-0 home draw by NCFC against Brighton looks good alongside Brighton's 2-2 draw at Liverpool ..... and Newcastle get thumped at home 3-0 by Chelsea ..... a win tomorrow and we're off the bottom of the table ..... and finally, super Brentford lose again .... I stick by my prediction that they will be relegation battlers very soon

I also posted this on Facebook some and twerp told me to **** off and called me a wetwipe. When I quoted his insult in my response I got a 24hr ban for 'bullying'.

A better performance but the weakness up front is now really beginning to bite. An ageing Pukki does not have the strength against some of these young defenders and Sargent works his backside off but is visibly losing confidence with every passing game. Two howlers, one from Kabak and one from Krul really did for us in the end. Hurrah! We scored a goal.

I'm not sure what it says about our left back options when DF elects to put Big Andy up against Raphinha. He was always likely to be the best/most dangerous player on the pitch and him scoring was sadly predictable.

At least we pressed them a bit higher but the lineup did have a bit of a feel of picking names out of a hat.

Unfortunately we're just not quite good enough.

Thing is, today summed up not just our previous games, but the other games we have to come. We’ll be close to quite a few sides but will end up losing or scraping a draw because we’re not quite good enough.

Having had time to reflect on yesterday's game, I still have no idea where we go from here. Much the same as those above, yes, a better performance, but ultimately not quite good enough.

We more than matched Leeds in the first half, I thought they looked terrible, but ultimately they had that bit of extra quality to see us off. Good to see a goal, seems like ages since we did. Krul horribly at fault for that second goal. The atmosphere at full time wasn't actually as bad as it could have been.

Really not sure what we can do now that is going to change, the rather inevitable, outcome.

One thing for sure, we cannot go on drifting with the same management losing every week, which would not be tolerated at any other club anywhere imho. Webber and Farke must go and Delia must get off her backside and be decisive for once, to instigate it before things get ugly. The "model" is dead in the water, how much more evidence is needed, and someone like Wilder is needed to come in and see if he can do something with this squad which seems broken to me. Let's get some pride back, there's enough ridicule surrounding us atm.

Can't agree about Wilder. His day has come and gone plus his style of play is based on a physical approach. Our current crop would not be up to that task methinks.

My positions remains thus.

We have the squad we can afford at this level, and absolutely nothing can change that right now, I doubt we'll do much business in January, so we have what we have. Now you have to decide, are these players genuinely good enough? Everyone was praising our transfer strategy a few months ago, but now saying we're not good enough, so which is it?

Webber is a qualified coach, he isn't stupid, so if he genuinely thinks that a different manager could get more out of this group of players then fair enough. But changing the manager, just because it is actually the only thing you can do, without genuine confidence that it will improve things, is just daft. I stand by my opinion that it will make very little difference.

Come on, you cannot use the fact that neither Farke nor Webber are on the pitch as an excuse for our predicament. No manager would ever get sacked if that were the case. Management are responsible for the performances of the team whether they, or you, like it or not, and our performances have been unmitigating disasters. They should take responsibility and go and stop amongst other things blaming the support, who btw aren't on the bloody pitch either.
