Wasn't Gunn sacked after an away game, Yeovil or somewhere down there?

Wow.

Whether the decision turns out to be the right one or not, terrible timing. I get that this international break is an ideal time to change manager, but for me we should’ve either sacked him after the Leeds game or let him continue and build off this win. The way the club have done this raises more questions than answers.

In all honesty it probably is the right call, particularly if the club have someone they believe is better lined up. But man, I feel completely deflated and genuinely really, really gutted for Daniel. Easily the best manager of my lifetime, and such a class act off the pitch as well. I’m gonna really miss him.

Huge appointment now. If we now don’t build off this Brentford result and pick up results in the next 3 games then serious questions are gonna be asked of the board. The first time in our season we’ve had a bit of momentum and we’ve just thrown it away, let’s hope in the long-term it’s worth it.

Really hope we see Daniel back at Carrow Road soon, or at least hear from him after he’s left. What a legend

Seems as though you need to win a game in big league to get the sack. I'm not in favour of this.

The decision was made before the Brentford game, with the international break now it was a convenient time to get it done.

I will admit to being a Farke-ite but it is not unreasonable to think that any new manager will have to fit the current crop of players into some kind of new system, otherwise there would be no point in getting rid of DF. That's going to be a tall order.

I'm not sure it requires a complete new system.
Maybe a change of emphasis perhaps, players being aware of not everyone piling forwards at once, being more solid when our moves break down and the opposition try to counter.
I would hope to see some improvements in set pieces, both defending them and scoring from them. We were badly negligent in those situations.

I have read comments by someone who's partner works at the club in a position to know stuff.
Farke didn't like being challenged. As with other players before him, Todd was being frozen out by Farke for no real fault of his own.
Last week Todd was banned from the first team changing room.
This situation involving a multi million pound asset was a topic in Farke's dismissal.
A manager is expected to manage and get the best out of players.

My 'inside source' told me that Cantwell had been very confrontational with DF and that was what ultimately led to him being left out of the team. If Webber sided with Cantwell instead of DF then he needs a good slap!

I understand that it was the manner Farke dealt with being challenged which was the topic.
He really didn't like it and struggled to handle it, even more so if he was angry and shouting but the other person wasn't.
There will always be different opinions and ideas, whether they're valid or not, the manager has to deal with it. Not everyone was happy with the way Farke dealt with it.

In my experience, in most walks of life, if you start challenging your boss, it invariably only ends one way.

Football is completely different from normal businesses in many ways.

Players are multimillion pound assets unlike managers

You still can't have the tail wagging the dog.
Managing a player doesn't mean giving in to him, but dealing with the situation on a way which wouldn't damage the asset for the club.

Todd wasn't the only one treated like this, there is a list.

If he couldn't manage them, then sell them to realise value for the club, not waste them to nothing.
Nobody wins that way.

I think Todd has a track record of being a bit of an arsehole. He is one part of the team, he is not more important than the team itself. It is bad for team spirit if a player is given preferential treatment. Todd wanted to be the highest paid player at the club, assuming he thinks he is the best player there. He needs to learn a bit of humility and realise that the way to truly make it, is through hard work.

IF you as a manager believe that to be true, AND you've failed to change him, then sell him and realise his value to purchase a different player.
ie. It should've been managed in a way which doesn't damage the club.
