Alex Neil was a guest on Jim White's TalkSport show for a good hour.

As always, came across well, spoke well, some subtle hints in there about player power etc which no doubt he struggled to deal with and probably impacted his ability to manage.

I don't think he comes across any better than the average manager and I still think he sounds a little bit excusey/it wasn't my fault.

Sometimes he makes a small claim he could have done things differently but I think it's a token gesture.

Hope he gets a job soon so he stops talking about us to be honest, its all irrelevant now... he had an objective, he wasn't going to meet it, therefore he was sacked. End of story. 

When he is willing to tell us which player would turn up drunk to training, the ins and outs of half time fist fights in the dressing room, and who tried it on with Delia at the Christmas party... I will listen. Until then its boring, he can save his narrative for job interviews.

Maybe it's just a Scottish thing or just me not reading it right but he seems to come across more honest than the average manager. I mean you can't read too much into it anyway because the primary reason he's doing things like TalkSport is to try and get himself a job!

Managers always come out with the same dross - see Alex Neil, Chris Hughton. Week after week would be the same stuff.

But you're right hogesar, he is trying to promote himself to get himself back into football!

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting very bored with all these reflections.  It's history now, move on AN.

Every time he talks to the media he is making himself less attractive to new employers.

Could have spent this time finding a big club to go and learn something from, 3 months at Man City under Guardiola or at Dortmund or somewhere, or could have begun to learn a second language to increase his number of opportunities. Instead he's making himself look narcissistic, a bit Trumpesque in the way that he is constantly talking about himself.

Perhaps the PFA will fund a trip to the faith healer, or he can go to Managers Anonymous.
