He made some good points. McNally needs to go. We're big enough to be a Leicester, Swansea or Stoke but it's never going to happen if we waste money on players like Wolfswinkel and Naismith. The whole structure of the club is failing and needs a complete overhaul.

I had calmed down after a good night's sleep morty, then I read this twitter DM resignation lark today.
The Board, owners, CEO and manager do not deserve to be in control of our once proud club, Smith and Jones should sell up and sod off to be blunt.

How many clubs at Premier League/Championship level can say that the people that run the club are genuine supporters of the team? A handful at best. The board may not have got it right all the time, particularly this season, however what we know about Delia and Michael, as well as various others on the board, is that they are actual fans of Norwich City and everything that they do for what they believe to be the club's best interest, not themselves. I would much sooner have them running things than some Russian billionaire who couldn't give a sh*t as long as he gets his money.
McNally as well, may have made mistakes but he doesn't deserve most of the criticism he's getting. He's got a lot of things right throughout his time here, most notably the appointment of Lambert. How many clubs do you see get relegated to the lower leagues and then never make it back? Thanks to McNally we got straight out of League 1 and even went one better and got back up to the Premier League. He also appointed Neil, who after we had got relegated bought us back up. As Morty said, we've spent 4 out of the last 5 seasons in the Premier League, when McNally came in that was unthinkable.

It annoys me when people say football clubs have a big pot of money that they just aren't spending, doesn't cost anything at all to have a brief look at the accounts of pretty much any football club, and it is clear that we do spend the money.
The problem is that we've not spent it very well, ever since Lambert left actually, from Hughton blowing our biggest ever transfer budget, to this season where we fail to spend the money early enough, and drop £9.5m on a player who just hasn't performed.
Meanwhile Vardy and his merry band of bargain basement misfits have won the league.
Lambert and his team, the team that he built himself, did a good job of spending a limited budget. Alex Neil couldn't bring that to the table, because he didn't know English football well enough, and whatever system we've introduced to try and compensate for him having no idea about the gems lying in the lower leagues or reserves of English football has failed us...
... I don't know whether you blame McNally, or blame Alex Neil, or blame neither of them. But I do know that the key to our success is getting things right in the transfer market, and we've simply not done that. In fact, the 4 bottom clubs all share that common trait, rubbish transfer business.
It still annoys me that we couldn't find £4m for Kyle Naughton, but could spend £9m on Van Wolfswinkel twelve months later then announce that he'd been signed on a job share basis with Gary Hooper.

Totally agree with your second paragraph Din, but have to take issue with the first. While nobody with half a brain would argue that Delia and Michael are ardent City fans, their wealth or relevant lack of it must be partially responsible for the club being unable to take that step of PL stability. Very few of your 'Russian Billionaires' are taking pots of money out of the clubs that they own. Most of the clubs are running at a huge loss anyway. The Sheik at Man City is reputed to have put in around £2billion, Abramovitch the same at Chelsea, Ashley £200M at Newcastle the list is endless. It is calculated that 70% of PL club's income now go on player's wages, not much left for anything else. But the point is that these guys have so much money, they don't need to be taking money out of their club, they have it already and/or make it doing other things. That these Chairman fleece loads of money every season from football clubs is a myth. It's all about branding, Etihad, Emirates, Sports Direct, Aviva, Chevrolet etc. and getting their names known globally.
