Atmosphere being discussed again on twitter by the Barclay end fellas and Along come Norwich, and lots of analysis as to the root cause.
Obviously a simplistic answer could be "Play attractive, winning football" and to some respects that is definitely a contributing factor. You could also look at a large amount of season ticket holders who are either in advancing years, or literally just going through the motions, going because they have paid for the seat, and its literally out of habit, rather than actually still enjoying it.
I think there are bigger issues at play here though. From a personal point of view, a few years ago I became utterly disinterested in international football, and now wouldn't go out of my way to even turn the telly on when England are playing. And over the last few seasons I have become less and less interested in the Premiership, I pay for Sky sports, but I don't think I have watched one Premiership match all season. I think that as time goes on fans are feeling less and less connected with football, especially the Sky cash cow that is the Premiership, and I wonder if what I am going through is a common thing amongst fans? I feel there is a sense of entitlement that has crept in, the desire for instant success, something that has been bred into people by Sky and its big money and constant bombardment of games and associated media.
Don't worry though, I'm not going soft, am going over the ticket office this morning to see if theres Forest tickets left!
