Canaries Player - You get more than you think!

No I am not trying to recreate the thread on the other site!!

However I have just realised that the Canaries Player sign in works on other sites offering the "Player" option.

So, for instance, Watford have about 12 minutes of highlights of Saturday's game on Hornets Player. That works for me as a good length of highlights as opposed to 3 to 4 minutes on Canaries Player or the Canaries Youtube channel. Or go to the Blackburn site and you can watch the whole game. Put up this morning.

So whilst we seem to get meagre offerings on the Canaries site, if you do subscribe try going to the opposition's site and you might find more.

It seems rather unfair that the level of content differs depending on the club you support.

I used to subscribe to listen to the radio commentary (i'm an exile) but i'm not always around to listen in and so i was paying for nothing, now that the highlights are released onto the Canaries YouTube channel 24 hours later.

The highlights on our games seem to be persistently short. It used to be that there were 4 minute highlights fairly quickly (like those now shown on YouTube), then extended highlights of 14-15 minutes. In spite of Player continuously saying "sign up for extended highlights" it's annoying that these 'extended highlights' never appear. Thanks for the tip about going to opposing side's Player, Sussex, I'll try that in future. The other useful thing is that you can get commentary on other team's games. I listened to Boro at Rotherham last week and Forest-Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Personally i can't see the need for any of these 'canaries/horntets/rovers etc Player' online channels. They seem a bit out of date.

As more and more has to be moved on to Youtube to stay competitive, subscription channels are becoming a bit obsolete.

I like that you can listen to games on local radio stations from other counties.

Maybe thats why i don't rate it a lot. I was lucky enough to be born close enough to Radio Norfolk to listen live on the radio, so i've never needed that feature.

Taking Sussex's advice, I tried Blackburn's Player site and found that I could get highlights of the whole match there, compared to the 4 minutes available on our version.

I can remember a year or two ago when Canaries Player offered highlights, and then later extended highlights, perhaps up to 20 minutes. They also offered the post match comments of the manager and perhaps a player. These are missing now, and like another poster I cannot always listen to the match commentary.

I have been asking myself why I continue to subscribe. I can usually get the (limited) highlights elsewhere, on the BBC if else fails. The only thing which could be gained and not available elsewhere is the interviews with new signings, but these do not occur very often, and brief youth or U21 team highlights.

I shall give serious thought to ending my subscription. It will be hard after so many years but....
