I'd be very disappointed if Hooper left actually, I'd like to think that he will be getting a chance and taking it.

If Hooper were to leave then Gayle would certainly be a great replacement. Like you CB I hope that when Hooper gets the opportunity he takes it.

The thing is as well Palace reportedly paid around £8m for Gayle, they're not likely to let him go on the cheap 18 months later.

To be honest, Hooper hasn't looked like scoring since he came back into the side. If Gayle is available i'd go snap him up pronto! I'm surprised Palace would get rid though as he's doing alright for them.

Hooper hasn't had a start this season yet has he? Just sub appearances?

Hooper has had a few minutes now and i can't remember him even taking a shot that came close. Hopefully he kicks on soon.

I dunno why Palace would make Gayle available, he's scored 5 in 7 games this season in all comps and even though he's on 1 in 5 in the prem, it's not a bad return for the standard of player we need.

Where did you hear he was available?

hooper has only had sub appearances;  but unlike jerome, lafferty or murphy he has not had an impact coming on as sub.      All three have taken their chances to shine and it is a concern that hooper has not; for example  he had 45 mins on tues where to be honest being citys man of the match did not take much winning yet still he fell well below the team average
