Nah pretty sure Bowkett was unpaid, I don't think any of the board members are paid. And theres a few people who paw over the accounts each year, had there been any mysterious payments to them, am pretty sure they would have been revealed by now.

The only Director who is paid is the CEO and that is for being the CEO not for being a Director. It is a shame that nobody produces a "Noddy" guide to the NCFC Annual Report as it might clear up a load of misconceptions. Then again probably not!

Bowkett was also unpaid. There are lots of things going on at the moment and lots of things are being reviewed. Having a big hitter from an Economics background in the chair is a first step to a different type of board. Anyone who thinks the appointment of a former Shadow Chancellor is to give Delia an extra vote is living on some other planet to be honest. The club is moving on and everyone is working their nuts off to make sure we stay up so  we can start to build properly.

I do find it sad that some people on social media seem prepared to moan at the appointment just because he's a local man and a City fan and isn't taking money out of the club. What a total bastard, eh?

Not really, other than that the changes on the board suggest a less parochial approach without losing the club's identity.

I like this appointment. I feel that he has the skills and qualities required to be a very effective chairman and that his appointment will have raised the profile of the club. 

Ive been trying to find a downside but can't really see it to be honest.

Go and look at who David McNally follows on twitter and you will soon work out that he is a Labour man and a leftie at heart. 

Which is surpising with him being such a hard-nosed capitalist in his working life, I suspect most private sector CEO's are Tories. 

He follows Stella Creasey, Russell Brand, Labour Press Team, Caroline Lucas, John Prescott, Irvine Welsh, The Guardian, and even Owen Jones.

And literally zero Tory MP's or right wing rags. 

With Delia Smith coming out publicly in the run up to the election pleading with people to vote Labour, and Stephen Fry also being a former Labour Party activist, I think he'll fit right in.

Actually makes me happy that we've got a board made up with people who are at least pay lip service to the working man rather than a board full of Michael Gove's or ex-domicile tax avoiders. Even if I consider the current incarnation of the Labour Party to be frankly completely unelectable.
