Agree with all of this, but it also raises a curious question. If Phelan is Adams' likely successor should he be sacked, what advantage would be gained by sacking him now? Wouldn't it be more logical to give Phelan time with the players and build up a rapport with them rather than throwing him into the deep end with one coach short at such a critical time. I wonder if that is how the Board is thinking at this time. So the dilemma stated by Din might also be what could gain Adams more time. Those wanting someone like Pulis in (which I don't) wouldn't be happy, but how many others are willing to see what impact Phelan has over the next few weeks.Adams certainly hasn't irretrievably lost the fans. If we put a good run together now, similar to the one we saw at the start of the season, and therefore we begin to climb the table and get into a good position, then everyone will be right behind him again, it just looks like right now he's not capable of doing that. He is in a little bit of a no win situation though. If we go and beat Wigan and then go on a brilliant run, then it will be because of Phelan's impact, if we continue to lose games then it will be Adams' fault.
