Skysports reporting we've made a move for Ignasi Miquel from Arsenal.

Primarily a CB but can play LB too.

21 years old and 6'4.

5 apps for Arsenal first team, 7 on loan at Leicester last season.

Is this a loan deal or permanent.

I've seen him a couple of times and he is exactly what you would expect from an Arsenal man. Decent in the air but at his best with the ball at his feet. Saw him in the Champions League for them not that long ago, and watched him twice while he was at Leicester last year. Would be very solid cover for us.

Not a big fan of Arsenal defenders, but if he is a left sided CB then that is desperately what we need. Sounds a good height too

If you read a few replies to the tweet, there's a lot of "please take him" feeling. Have to admit I know absolutely nothing about him though.

Would be a loan deal according to Paddy Davitt
But SkySports say permanent, as he is in last year of contract...

We are hearing reports that Norwich have made an offer for Arsenaldefender Ignasi Miquel, who is entering the final year of his Emirates Stadium contract. The Canaries hope to conclude the deal in the next 48 hours, with Arsenal unlikely to stand in the way of the proposed move.

Arsenal want to sell by the sounds of it so I think it will be permanent. Leicester were very close to buying him last season looking at reports. Leicester fans rate him overall by the looks of it.

Seems to be a good target, and certainly would be a permanent deal, given only one year left on his contract. We seem to be accumulating Spanish players. Garrido, Cuellar and now possibly Miquel.

An Arsenal blog also has us linked with Miquel, their left-sided CB who was on loan at Leicester. As he's in the final year of his contract, it's thought to be a permanent deal.

Sounds good if true.

Now also in the Daily Fail so it must be true!

Italian press are linking us to Michael Ciani of Lazio, along with Stoke. Centre back so it would seem, along with other rumours, our defence is likely to be re-vamped.

Wasnt Ciani the guy we were linked with signing last season but then got Yobo on loan?

If only Lappin were still here....

He went through the Barca youth system so is it safe to presume he is decent on the ball?

Miquel is pretty bad.

Good with the ball at his feet, but can't tackle well, tends to stand in the wrong place and not strong enough to challenge most forwards.

Reminds me a lot of Ayala who could pass the ball, but was constantly standing in the wrong place or fouling players in stupid places (usually the box).

Miquel will be cheap and is left footed so will provide decent cover, but if Norwich sign him I expect them to be selling him again in a year or so.

Now if we only had some defensive coaches, I wonder what CH is doing?

Having never played the game at the highest level, I'm willing to trust the views of those who have.

Would be happy with this. I think we do need 1 more centre back as cover, especially with Ryan Bennett out for possibly 10 weeks. And Neil Adams did say after the game today that we are looking to complete a deal for another centre back, so this looks very likely.

Would think that assuming we do sign Miquel, or at least another centre back, that that will be our final signing of the summer. Very happy with our business as well.

From what I've read on other forums about this guy I am not to sure about this one tbh, kinda 50/50. However we do need another CB and in my opinion a RB since Whitt does not fill me with confidence. Also depending what happens with Hooper maybe another Striker but I can see them saying Becchio has been doing really well in training and bringing him back into the first team as a cheaper option.

Was going to say that this description sounds very similar to Ayala
