Can't find where this came from, probably Twitter, but somewhat worrying nonetheless. Doesn't really appear to give us supporters much to look forward to imo.

That bit I don't think I was ever aware of...............that we were skint , yes, that we all knew. What I wasn't that impressed with was to see the extent of our poverty spread all over today's National Press, I'm not sure how sensible that is, but there you go.

I haven't really got time to look back at reports but I seem to remember it being extensively covered by the Archant crew, and they don't tend to go beyond what they can factually prove.

If you watched any of the interviews with Webber he set out, very exactly where we were financially. It is hardly a secret, we self fund, there isn't a sugar daddy or secret stash of cash available.

I still think there will be a few quid to spend in January though.

If you watched any of the interviews with Webber he set out, very exactly where we were financially. It is hardly a secret, we self fund, there isn't a sugar daddy or secret stash of cash available.

I still think there will be a few quid to spend in January though.

I think what has shocked me is the phrase "we will never have" in the quote from DF. Apart from the top 6 or so I wonder who are the settled teams in the PL. Tbf I would have said Watford were settled up to this season, but they seem to have blown up, I'm not sure you could put your money on many to be 'settled'.
I had watched some of Webber's interviews, and I never thought that there was a hidden sugar daddy or secret stash. Neither do I subscribe to the Delia's got her hand in the till brigade, which thankfully does seem to have died down a bit lately elsewhere.
My hope was that we could stay up, and reap the financial benefits and build from that even with the appalling injury situation. Hopefully we can find a few quid in January as you say Morty to give us a boost. Otherwise I fear for the self funding module.

I think that I have really bought into all that Webber has said in his many interviews.

The mistakes of the past, and how we aim not to repeat them. Last time in the Prem I think the brief given to McNally was to stay up at all costs, which led to some terrible financial decisions, Naismith being a prime example, a player we ended paying for long after he was of any use to us, if he ever was. They have just published the accounts today, which show an operating loss of 38 million, which shows the harsh realities of a season without parachute payments. Though because of the way Premier money is paid, a profit of at least 20 million will be shown next year.

I think they are aiming to get away from the boom/bust culture where you back yourself into a corner where you literally have to get promoted to survive, which in turn, forces you into risky decisions. We have already spent some of our money wisely in upgrading Colney, and making some improvements around the ground. I think we are in good hands, and I do not fear relegation in the slightest, and certainly not as much as last time, because it will not herald any kind of financial ruin if we do go down, and then we get to have the fun of winning the league again.

Delia and Michael have reiterated that they are always welcome to serious offers, but none have ever come (And I believe that) and lets not forget Fulham who spent 100 million last season and still went down.

I think funds will be made available in January.

I can't argue with any of that, nor would want to. Let's hope for a change of luck with regard to injuries in particular. I believe that the team that gained promotion playing the best football that I've ever seen at CR, can rediscover it's mojo and retain it's place in the PL.
