It´s Just About Time, I Think

Time to lay the bogey

That Craven Cottage holds,

And to see if just once

It´s Cottagers who fold,

Psychological nonsense

Some probably would say,

But in sporting events

It has a part to play,

And since Worthy´s  0 - 6

And before, come to that,

When we grace their home ground

We´ve always fallen flat,

The last win we managed

When on their turf, we play,

Was in nineteen eighty-six

On a fine New Years´s Day,

So thirty years almost

Have gone since that one-nil,

A very lonely high spot

Since when it´s been uphill,

Surely now it´s our turn

To once more taste a win,

In that London borough

Where points have fallen thin,

This year in particular

Considering their start,

Chances can´t be better

To go take them apart,

And if we should triumph

That monkey then would be,

Removed, at least for a while

And would bring us much glee,

As well as points most useful

To help in this year´s quest,

Which, as we´re all hoping

Is to end as the best. OTBC

But how the beer

Will taste better there

Both before and after the game,

If the Craven jinx

Miraculously sinks

Without trace, as our lads take aim. :)
Mate, can I have some of whatever you're on? ;-)

There was a Sweaty called Kyle

Who had an all action style

He played at Craven Cottage

Dismissing the 'hoodoo' knowledge

And City won by a mile

"Who will mark Mark Fotheringham?"

That's what I was thinking

Then I remembered him playing for us,

And that set me off drinking

I went to Craven Cottage to watch the super Yellows

With a bunch of my friends that are all good fellows

When Fulham was reached we hit the Crabtree first

For a pint of Peroni or three to help quench our thirst.

The pub was filled with canaries, lots of fun and frolics

It's a shame that the match was a dismal load of boll*cks

The best chance we had came from a penalty kick

But Lewis Grabban hit the bar, the useless bloody *****

The final whistle went, the crowd they moaned and raged

And just to sum up the day, the Samaritans were engaged.

*As a disclaimer, I don't think Grabban is useless or a ***** but it rhymes.
