I dont think there is anything wrong with discussing Boro, as long as we all start off with the disclaimer that we have to beat Ipswich first. Lets assume we've all accepted that and move forward!
I too think we have better players than Boro, the question is, who is the better team.
I didnt see the 4-0 loss so cannot comment on the nature of how we lost that game. What I will say is that although personnel were the same, that was under Adams, where we were inconsistent. The Boro loss was a shock, and in reality they probably caught us at the wrong moment. I dont think that game is reflective of the difference between the two sides, with us being far more consistent under Neil.
That said, of the few games Neil's side have been turned over in, Brentford at home was one of them, and Boro at home another. Both teams did a number on us, having had much less of the possession, but coming away with the spoils. This makes me concerned about Ipswich somewhat, as theyve been shown how to beat us at home. But in 3 games Iv never really seen them look like doing anything than pump it long, which hasnt proved too effective for them.
We've hopefully learned two important lessons from the Boro defeats. If we met them in the final and they were to turn us over again (ie trebled us) I dont think we could complain too much, they'd have comprehensively proved themselves.
Boro got their tactics right at Carrow Road. If we can match the tactical side, I feel we have far superior players at our disposal, the question will be who has the more effective team. Boro have proved to have the better gameplan twice this season. But we are certainly capable of beating them and should have no fear going into any final
