Non-League Striker

I have seen multiple times now that Norwich have been linked with a non-league striker, Ashley Nadesan, who is currently with Horley Town.  He has bagged 92 goals in 2 seasons.  This clearly means he is above non-league competition.  With how well Leicester did in finding Jamie Vardy, everyone seems to be searching for the next Vardy.  A non-league player that comes out of nowhere to storm the gates of top flight football.  But, do you take a chance on a McDonalds employee to be your club's striker?  He certainly can play, but is he ready to make the jump from non-league to potentially Premier League football?

What's everyone's' thoughts on this subject? Would you take the chance on him?  Does Norwich's current striker situation influence your decision?

We've plucked quite a few players from the lower leagues already recently. With our current youth status and financial position it makes sense that we are doing so. It doesn't involve much risk and the rewards are potentially massive. So yeah, can't complain.

Although Coventry are a bit higher up the pyramid and we've probably paid a fair bit more I'm really excited about the Maddison signing, Have a feeling that he'll be playing a part next season, even if we stay up.

Its more normal for non-league players to progress through the league system a bit, e.g. to Conference National, to League 1, to Championship. Like Grant Holt. 

But there are examples of players who have gone from real £50 a game and wash your own kit standard to the top of the game, Chris Smalling went from Maidstone United to Manchester United in around 18 months.

Like KeiranShikari said though, what do we have to lose? Its probably about 50 times more likely he'll be the next Cody McDonald and find his level in League 1 than the next Jamie Vardy, but we are in a position to speculate.

Yeah risk of failing is huge, but financial risk is very small. Guy is just 21 years old thought so he has time to adapt and develope even when the leap from non-league is huge to championship/premier league. Good business if they can pull it trough, if it looks like after pre-season that he is out of his weight then you can always send him on loan to develope in lower leagues.
