Has there ever been any noise from the club or Archant about a linkup with Chicago Fire?
They (Chicago Fire) have announced that they will be training at Colney for a week in February between Feb 2nd and Feb 10th and are playing a friendly against us on 5th February.
Presumably this is a behind closed doors friendly.
I would guess that they are actually playing an XI consisting mainly of Under 21's and our reserve players (like Garrido, Bunn etc) plus anybody who happens to need some match fitness at the time? Because we have a Championship fixture on 7th February vs Blackpool.
It could be quite a handy exercise if we plan on signing a few people in the January window I suppose. Just a bit surreal that I've found this out from somebody who is a Chicago Fire fan on facebook, instead of hearing it from the club or Norwich fans, although I don't seek out news too much these days.
I had a google and did find an EDP article from December 2013, over a year ago, about their coach Frank Yallop (former binner) saying that he had connections at Spurs and Norwich and was hoping to take some of our kids on loan. None have gone though, bet there are a few kids at the club who would jump at the chance of a few months in the MLS.
