What will the tinkerman do this week?

Time for Howson to sit out a game? Same defence as last time? Who gets the nod up front, has Grabban done enough?

What will the tinkerman do this week?  No idea, and not sure he knows either after recent weeks selections.

Time for Howson to sit out a game?  No, as that would mean yet another change

Same defence as last time?  Even though I am not a huge fan of Wisdom, yes.....for same reason as above.

Who gets the nod up front, has Grabban done enough?  Jerome prefereably, although I have no problem with Mbokhani, Grabban NO, NO, NO.....he doesnt appear to want to be here after that lacklustre display vs Watford.

I'd like to see Mulumbu come into the team, and I'd like either one of Mbokani or Jerome to come back into the team (hopefully feeling that they have a point to prove after two games on the bench).

I'd probably go for Mulumbu and Tettey with Hoolahan in front of them. Redmond on the right, Brady on the left, and leave the back 5 how it is for now.

For me it has to be 4-4-2 in the diamond formation. We can argue as much as we like that the change in system since ManC has done OK but in reality we have slipped nearer the bottom three. And it is no good pointing out the recent opposition because none of them are as good as we thought they were. Watford were just as good as Liverpool etc. And we now have to forget the opposition line up and concentrate on sending out our team to play their own game.

Rudd

Wisdom Bennett Bassong Ollson

Redmond Mulumbu Hoolahan Brady

Jerome Mbokani

No idea what to expect really. The last couple of months haven't exactly filled me with confidence that AN knows what to do at this level.

Lukaku will cause Bassong and Bennett (I too would keep the same back 4 and resist the urge to change Seb for Russ) problems but its time to play to out strengths which is a creative midfield - rather than trying to cover the over-bearing defensive deficiencies.    I do suspect

I would rest Howson,  who has been moved from positional pillar to post and it has affected his form;   I expect him bounces back after a rest but he has not added enough to warrant keeping his place.  Two from Tettey, ONeill & Mulumbu providing a shield for the back 4 and to enable Brady, Redmond and VOO/Wes to drive the attacks.

Up front its a case of which non scoring striker to go with;   Jerome for me as he defends / presses better and his movement creates space for others to score - but it could be any of them.

Rudd wasnt much better than ruddy (the saves he made were similar to those by Ruddy,  and he was very hesitant for the disallowed goal) but now he is in, he deserves more than just a 90 min run.

Press high,  use width,  pass crisply,  defenders concentrate.

                      Rudd

Wisdom Bennett Bassong Olsson

                    O'Neill/Tettey

Redmond   Mulumbu  Voo/Wes   Brady

                         jerome

Subs

Ruddy   Martin, Whiitaker, Voo/wess,  Howson, Grabban,  Mbokani

Everton fans - like living in the past and have a big sense of entitlement. Everyone bangs on about that scouse humour but they're nearly all miserable sods. Typical bunch of scousers really. Arrogance level 9/10

i just want us to play our game without over compensating for Everton, play like the home side and have a right good go........entertain like we did earlier in the season.

Wahaay. No puta for me tomorrow, we is on da telly. Extra whisky on hand. I know Everton are on a good run, but if the boys are on tune, then why can't we put a spoke in their front wheel?

Tough one, Everton are so good going forward at the moment but they are as poor at the back, you really can get at them.  If we can play like we did against arsenal, we have a good chance, but like all our games its going to come down to how many self inflicted mistakes there are and how many of them Everton take advantage of.  We desparately need a win so I dont care how we do it.  In my mind we are just treading water till Jan.

Mark, all the quotes ive seen and heard from AN, it seems this is whats going to happen.  Hes tried playing more defensive to try and compensate for the mistakes, but as they are still occurring he said there wasnt much point sticking with it.

TEAM: Rudd; Wisdom, Martin (c),Bassong, Olsson; Redmond, O'Neil, Tettey, Brady; Hoolahan; Jerome. #ncfc

Don't really understand why Martin has come in for Bennett. Ok Bennett wasn't particularly good against Watford but nobody was, and in recent weeks had been one of our best players.

Have to say it seems a bit like Alex Neil doesn't really know what to do. He's switched the team around so many times in the last few weeks that he clearly doesn't really know his best team.

Good point. Rudd my man of the match. What we all feared about Jerome - that he needs too many chances to score - proved true today. Mbokani to start next game?

Thought Jerome was MOTM despite the miss.
Maybe his work rate didn't come across well on TV (for me anyway). Holding the ball up has always been his strength and he's by far our best striker in that respect, but he really needs to put those chances away.

The highly rated John Stones certainly knew he was around.
