The Newcastle game was utterly nerve shredding, am assuming this will be the same, times 20.

Win it and we're all but home, lose or draw, then I will have to cast a nervous eye over our remaining fixtures.

I'm a bit annoyed it's an early kick-off. Never think the atmosphere is as good and that could make a difference.

Considering drinking from 10am. Numb the pain so to speak.

All you can eat breakfast buffet booked here, at The Nelson, 09:30.

Am not ruling out a few beers with it :)

Take out Defoe and you'll fine  Seriously as I've said elsewhere if we had any form of attack, we would of had them. Score early or deny them and score late they will panic. Remember it's in your hands to all but relegate 3 teams I think you'll do it with ease

I was going to say that this is a must win for Sunderland, and a 'must not lose' for us, but then remembered that Sunderland have a game in hand, a good manager, and lots of players who have pulled off a Houdini act a couple of times. So its probably just as much a 'must win' for us.

Our run in is probably a little bit better than there's, so win this and I think we'll stay up.

All must wins now until we are safe, and this will be a bit tougher than Newcastle United, mainly because of Big Sam, he has the t-shirt big time for such occasions.

The only thing i'd say about this belief that Big Sam is likely to make a difference - he's been in charge of them for a while now and i'm not sure they're significantly better for it.

I can't help feeling that all this rabbit that Sam has been indulging in this week, in front of the cameras pretty well every day, rambling on about everything from Athletico to Dortmund and goodness knows what else, has merely added to the pressure on his own players.  Whereas Alex has said very little, treating it all like a normal week and keeping pressure on his players to a minimum.  Can't help thinking this is the right way to do it.

Definitely, Big Sam has bigtime verbal diarrhea, he is massively under pressure. Like you say, Alex has it spot on.

Yeah, I think he enjoys is pressers a bit too much. Neil will have a joke with the reporters but 99 percent of the time it's obvious he'd rather be out on the training pitch or well, doing anything else.

Yeah think I'm going to wake up particularly early just to start drinking. Not sure how healthy that really is but I'm a Uni student so it's nothing too out of the ordinary for me :D

Biggest game of the season so far. I think it really is as simple as the winner will stay up and the loser will go down. Both sides have difficult run ins after this, albeit with Sunderland having a game in hand. A win puts us 7 points clear of Sunderland, and I can't really see them taking 7 points from their remaining fixtures to be honest. A loss would put just 1 point between us, with them having the momentum. We really cannot afford to lose.

Ruddy
Wisdom Bennett Klose Olsson
Redmond Howson O'Neil Brady
Naismith
Mbokani

Praying that Klose is fit, it'll boost our chances if he is. I'd definitely bring Redmond back in. Jarvis offers more defensively but isn't even close to being the attacking threat that Redmond is when he's in good form. Apart from that I'd keep the same team that beat Newcastle.
I'm going to be very nervous come lunchtime tomorrow, to the extent that I'm not really looking forward to the game. Not particularly confident, and have no idea what way it'll go, but if I had to guess I'd go with a 1-0 Sunderland win.

Tempted to start with Jarvis perhaps, we know Redmond offers zero in way of defending, and an early goal could be disastrous for us.

I am strangely confident, the more Fat Sam has gobbed off, the more I have realised just how much pressure he / Sunderland are under.

Even a draw for us isn't the end of the world. We'll beat Watford at home.

Such hard decisions. I would be tempted to go with hoolahan. We have to create chances and have to be able to finish them and redmond and hoolahan both improve on Jarvis and Naismith for me. I can see the defence argument but at home against a nervous (and pretty impotent) Sunderland I think we can dominate and go for a decisive win. I have not been convinced by Naismith's hustle and bustle.

It was excellent against Newcastle.

Well if Martin is at right back then you do need a defensive winger.

But I would prefer to see Redmond. He's more likely to hurt Sunderland.

Agree on that, but I feel Alex is big on timing and tempo of games. Right player at the right time kinda thing. It depends how he perceives how Sunderland are going to set up.
