Very much looking forward to this, as I'll actually be home to see it! Hoping they have been working hard over the break, and the appearance/non appearance of Oliviera could be interesting, and either scotch or confirm recent rumours.

I think there's every chance Nelson wants to leave and perhaps doesn't get on with the manager.

But Chelsea had that Diego Costa thing going on last season and they still played him and won the league.

Aside of Nelson, and I say that because he does appear to be a bit fragile and miss more games than he plays, I'm now more concerned about the overall squad fitness and availability. If over the break we now have more ready to play then I can see us having a decent run again in to January, then we must get a decent back up or first choice striker, then I still believe we could scrape a play off place, and I would take that after all of the shite we have been through.

Yeah unfortunately, for whatever reason, its looking like Nelson can't be relied on. Though with Marley being able to play as a striker, and us invariably only playing with one up top, I can't see us buying an additional striker in January, unless we flog Nelson and buy a replacement.

I think we all assumed that Nelson was the answer to our lack of goals, in theory the combo of Cameron to do the dirty bits, and Nelson to score is a good one though. I guess we'll see how it pans out over the next few months.

Ah ha. So we're not planning to buy a striker... unless there is a good one we can buy.

Little bit p'd off actually. Took month off to Bulgaria, we were great. Aha,will help the guys along, took more time out, went to Budapest and we lost 3 games. Now sulking back in Romania, feeling a bit mixed up and eyeing my strong sipping lotion. Had a great time though.  Enjoy tomorrow people

Who'd of thunk it, Naismith out with another knock. Suppose we'll be told soon that the other wage earner name forgotten is still injured. other injury news seems  to be ok-ish

Said a little while ago that I'd quite like us to start with just one holding midfielder in home games against some of the 'weaker' sides in the league, and definitely think we should be going with that for this one. Saw another video from the press conference earlier where Farke suggests he might have something new up his sleeve for this one. I hope he does to be fair as we really need to find a way of improving our home form.

Sounds as if Nelson is fine yet Jerome is carrying a bit of a knock. Maddison also a doubt for tomorrow. Good news is though is that Pritchard is back in training and could feature for the under 23's in the next few days. As for the team, I'd go with:

Gunn
Pinto Hanley Klose Stiepermann
Trybull
Wildschut Hoolahan Vrancic Murphy
Oliveira
Obviously is Maddison is fit then he has to play, but reading between the lines from what Farke said if I had to guess I'd say he won't be, or at least not enough to start. Think this is the sort of game that is perfect for Wes, and surely Nelson has to start.

Said in another thread a game like this is a perfect opportunity to show what we can do. Not gonna try and predict the score, but this would be a great game to go and win!

Yeah wouldn't be unhappy with that team. Murphy and Wildschut are critical to breaking down teams that come here to park the bus. Would love someone central that can do similar like Pritchard.

Yeah really poor that. First half was uninspiring but second was absolutely abysmal. Barnsley looked as if they were the home team.

As much as I like Farke I'm really struggling to understand some of his decisions today. Firstly he took Husband off at half-time because he was on a yellow card. Fair enough, don't have any complaints about that. But he replaced him with Zimmermann, meaning we had to change the whole system and formation. Pretty much instantly Barnsley scored. Even after that though, it was 1-1 and we should be looking to get the winning goal, he sticks with the 5 at the back, leaving Hoolahan on the bench. We weren't good by a long way in the first half, but at least we were winning the game and Barnsley didn't ever really look like scoring. I agree when Farke said after that he wanted us to have more control of the game, but we actually had a lot more of it first half than we did second.

Thought Pinto deserved his man of the match, though Hanley was also excellent first half. After the change of formation not so much. Maddison as usual was trying to make things happen, and I actually didn't think Vrancic was bad. The rest aren't worth talking about.

But yeah, really really poor today. Need a response against Nottingham Forest now.

I really feel sorry for flashdown, who has come all this way to see a really poor match in pretty much complete silence
