Its just started to feel like the second part of the Hughton era to be honest... particularly the frustrated and isolated striker with no support and using Maddison as a constant outlet like Snodgrass was.
Hughton did blow a massive transfer budget in the process and signed several strikers, a luxury not afforded to Farke who has to contend with a forever shrinking budget (like Lambert at Villa, didn't get the credit he deserved there).... but the players have started to look like they are losing belief in their ability to score goals and win games.
I'd be less worried if it was early December instead of early November, if it was the former then we'd be a few weeks away from finding a way to bring in one or two new faces or recalling one or two from loan (Raggatt, perhaps even Morris?).
Farke needs a plan B right about now (or is it Plan C, are we already on Plan B?) but we're pretty threadbare and I'm not sure what he can really do, can't even really try two up top because we've only got one actual striker.
Perfect time for Carlton Morris to come into the side in the second half of this season, if he can score a few goals he'll bring a bit of a feel good factor... Norwich fans have always liked a big man up top and I can remember the buzz when Chrissy Martin first broke into the team and formed a partnership with Hucks which kept us up.
Unfortunately it wouldn't surprise me entirely if Raggatt coming into the squad means a Hanley-Zimmerman partnership and Klose leaving in January, lets be franke.... anybody on over say £18k or £20k a week is for sale.
I think we could have done with Waghorn on the cheap from Rangers to be honest, one of the scums better players and we haven't got the cash to aim much higher than that... clever little player.

ps. Time to accept that Vrancic is League 1, its not his fault but this reign isn't going to be without some accrued deadwood. A bit depressing that he's on a 3 year deal but Tryball is on a 1 year, Trybull began his time here on trial with us, but now we're on trial with him.

They need a striker but I doubt Morris is the man for the job.
Vrancic is worth his place in the squad and as good as Trybull is for us I don't think he'll get many better offers than Norwich.

Strikers cost a lot of money and its been determined that we don't have a pot to *bleep* in, so Carlton Morris may be our only option.
I'd take him over ever seeing Naismith play as a striker again.

One thing's for sure, we can't keep playing Jerome, for all his hard work, his lack of scoring is getting beyond ridiculous.

Not helped by him just not being suited to this style of play, plus he's been overplayed due to a lack of fit alternatives. Feel a bit sorry for him, the problem is that you need 3 strikers in your squad even if you play 1 at a time. He looked knackered after half an hour today.

We could do a lot worse than to try and sign Chris Martin on loan from Derby, only started 2 games for them this season and he's behind Nugent, Vydra and Winnal. Scored off the bench today.
He's good on the ball and players play off him... I think that's what we need, a striker who gets involved in build up play and is good with the ball at his feet in tight situations, can play the odd one two with Maddison or Wes. And of course he's a decent finisher.
I suppose Derby will want to keep the depth in their squad as long as they are up there though?

Not helped by him being too comfortable. You don't see a lot of fire in the belly from Cameron anymore.
He's all too "nice". Rather than putting himself about with defenders you tend to see him giving them a pat on the shoulder "You alright mate?" sort of thing.

All a bit disappointing, but lets be honest here, the squad has been well stretched over the last month, and most squads in this league would have struggled and not been producing their best. This break couldnt come at a better time, just like the previous one, as it will give time for a regroup, rethink and time for more recovery of several players. Yes, we do need another strike option, that's for sure, particular as Nelson is clearly injury prone, but other than that, with an almost full squad to choose from again, I actually remain relatively confident that we will improve once again. Hopefully January will bring a loanee striker from a Premier League squad or, some surprise package from our far reaching scouting set-up.
I will be controversial here, and say that I really don't agree with the Naismith negatively that seems to be spreading like some sort of disease across various message boards, as I think he will have a major part to play providing he can get clear of his injury......that team has been crying out for a good Naismith for weeks, he is quality and a grafter. Further more, and to be slightly mischievous, I would also love to see Jarvis back, as once again, when fit he is a quality player and would do a job for us at this level I'm sure until he is released, as he will need to show other clubs he is worth a gamble.

I think the major gripe with Naismith and Jarvis isn't that they aren't good enough when fit and motivated to get game time for us, its the disparity between what they take from the club and what they give back. When our parachute payments seize in the summer they will be a huge drag on our finances.
Its not really their fault is it, its down to whoever sanctioned giving 3.5 year deals to ageing players and I assume that under our structure at that time then it was McNally who gave the go ahead?
If we were going to shell out on a long big money contract for an ageing player who sometimes doesn't look very interested then I'd much rather it have been Mbokani, considering our plethora of current options in attacking midfield and our lack of options up top.
I can foresee a situation whereby Jarvis is given a mutual termination in the summer and Naismith is loan to Rangers so they can cover some of his wages for the remainder of his contract.
The seriousness of the situation facing us in the summer can't be underestimated, Webber and Farke are still in the early stages of the 'project' which basically requires us to get a flukey promotion this season or get rid the club of any player on Premier League money by July. The less likely the former looks over the next couple of months then the more likely we'll see the latter start in January I think, probably starting with Klose?.
