Maybe slightly harsh but follows from my comment about when he came on the other night, looked a bit lost and not really sure what he was meant to be doing.

It feels like he comes from an older style of one dimensional footballers, when you had the attributes to play your position and nothing more. A striker would be a big lump who could bully defenders, or occasionally a twinkle toed pretty boy who never left the box (Lineker). You would have a war horse midfielder, and wingers that could go like stink and get to the byline, and that was literally their only job.

I've not met Yanic and can't say that I've heard much from him, so I bow to your greater knowledge of stupid footballers, I do err towards blaming the coaches for not finding a way to train him on.

I don't have any personal experience per say, but I have a mate who coaches to a reasonable standard, and he has always told me that there really are a lot of footballers who aren't too sharp.

You often see players described as having a footballing brain. Players like that easily adapt to differing roles and tactics, but there area lot of players out there that really only have one string to their bow.

Thing is to include Yanic in our midfield who are you going to ditch? Pritchard? Maddison? Our top scorer Murphy? I can see him being used as an impact sub and thats about it.

I don’t really get this about “training players on”. Yes, some young or inexperienced players can have coaching to improve them, but if it works on everyone then football would be awash with players of the same quality as Messi ?. They all have their limits regardless of the amount of coaching they have.

Everyone can learn, it takes a little more ability and patience to teach a stupid person. (As my teachers would have told you)

It’s the ability bit that can be a problem sometimes ?
