Be good to get back to proper football again, even if it is soulless. Wonder how many clubs will be lacking stars, due to injuries, covid etc, due to these rubbish friendlies etc

Missed the presser as was at the dentist. Gist I think Bali Mumba and Adam Idah both expected to be out for 10 weeks. They can't set a date on Quintilla returning, which is slightly concerning.

frustrating team news that, Mumba & Idah out for 10 weeks, Xavi still out

on the plus side, Hanley & Aarons both available, Rupp, Gibson, Cantwell have all trained and should be available, Zimmermann has come out of the last game fine

we actually have three fit centre backs for the first time in about seven and a half years, lets see if we still do at 5pm tomorrow

Disappointing news about Idah and Mumba, particularly as the latter had a real chance of starting this game with Xavi still out.

I honestly think this will be our toughest game of the season so far. Middlesbrough have incredibly only conceded 1 goal in their last 7 league games, which is absolutely ridiculous. A draw would not be a bad result at all.

Team I'd go for:

Krul
Aarons Hanley Gibson Sorenson
Rupp Skipp
Buendia Stepi Cantwell
Pukki

Subs: McGovern, Zimmermann, McLean, Vrancic, Martin, Placheta, Hugill

Going to be interesting to see which combination of Hanley, Zimmermann and Gibson that Farke chooses for his centre back pairing. I personally would probably go for Hanley and Gibson, as they were forming a really nice partnership before Gibson got injured. I would also like to see Cantwell bought back in, as Middlesbrough will likely be very organised and tough to break down, and I think he'll give us more creativity than Placheta will.

Also, this game marks the first this season that we'll be allowed to use 5 substitutions for. I'm not a fan of it at all, but Farke has been advocating it for a while, so let's hope it helps!

How the hell did you manage to get an appointment at the dentist Morty? Mine (NHS) won't give me an appointment, having cancelled mine in June, unless all my bloody teeth have fallen out at least. Everytime I phone, they say we'll be in touch, my response is so will the undertaker before long.

*Long off topic post alert, apologies in advance*

I have had a nightmare this year, dentally, lol. I am paying for sins of the past, I haven't had a new filling in about 15 years, but had a lot when I was younger, and they are all giving up the ghost! Lost a cap off a back tooth about February I think? They put it back on, but it fell off again anyway, tried over the next few months to get an appointment, rang the dentist and they asked if it hurt (it didn't) and they said my dentist would ring me, she didn't. Lost a small filling from another back tooth, then last time away, about July, lost a big filling from a bottom tooth. Rang them when I got home in October and had a bit of a barney with them on the phone, they said my dentist was on holiday and couldn't see me, I said that because of my job I couldn't work like this, I'm not in a position to just pop in when something starts to hurt.

I had previously asked them about going private, as I have private insurance through my work, and the receptionist said again it wouldn't make any difference, I ranted a bit more and then she said "Oh we have a new private dentist just started, he could see you" After muttering "what the fuck?" under my breath, we made an appointment for the next week. I have had one appointment a week for the last three, and one more next week, I had root canal yesterday (urgh) in preparation for having a crown fitted when I next get home in January.

All in all it is all costing £1400, of which I should get about about £1200 back, and honestly, in my position it has been worth every penny, and has made me realise that on the NHS you really do get the absolute minimum, and "just in time" care, and I understand that, as it is pretty desperately underfunded.

Anyway, 1 nil to the Nodge today :p

Many thanks for the 'off topic' response. I think I'll have to get a bit more pensioner, grumpy etc.

OR You need to fly out here to Romania. I have a good dentist, and pay less than I pay on NHS dentists. Better dental surgeries too if you know where to go. My lady has just finished getting her implant, total cost=£ 358. I had 3 in a line 2 years ago £ 1300 . That's x-rays aftercare the whole caboodle.
In the meantime, tough old game today. Injury to Idah, backs up what I said the other day about these poxy international jollies. Keep happy, keep well all. Now busy polishing my sipping glass

My Dad lives in Malta, and says similar about their healthcare.

The NHS is a lovely idea, but it is really a ridiculous, socialist construct. It is bloated and inefficient, like a nationalised industry, or your local council. It needs reform from the ground up.

Have to agree. My favourite occupation when waiting in a clinic, is seeing how many members of staff are wandering aimlessly about, clutching the proverbial clipboard, while nursing staff are usually rushed off their feet.
