Going to this, I must want my head looked at.

Literally zero expectations, which means we will pull out an unlikely win.

Probably....

Just me going then?  ;)

I'm assuming we won't be seeing Klose, he didn't look too clever when he hobbled off the other day. Bassong and Martin?

Murphy looks like he is knackered and could do with a rest. Wes too, by the looks of Friday.

Not sure if Maddison is fit?

Preston is a decent ground from what I remember and worth ticking off. I went when we drew 1-1, I think it was the first away game of that season. The Lofthouse stand was in the process of being built at the time. Also found their supporters to be ok and the national football museum was also there which was worth a look although I believe that is somewhere else now. Club cabbage for 11-12 hours though .... ?

Admire your optimism Morty, or is it just hope?!  Maybe you'll see some of the youngsters given a run out, but then again.............  Have a good trip anyway, and let's hope there isn't any capitulation.

Murphy has looked like needing a rest for a while now, wouldn't be surprised to see Josh take his brothers place, also I'd expect to see either Naismith/Wildschut in for Wes, How close is Dorrans to a return as he could well come in for Tetts, but chances are Monday is too soon for him, I'd love to see Jerome partner Oli up top and maybe go 442 for the last couple of games, we have nothing to lose now so why not tinker with things a bit, both are in good goal scoring form so why not

Might be a bit refreshing to post on here for a bit...hahahaah

We're away from home so it's a loss but will it be a bad one?

Klose should be out regardless of injury or not but who comes in is almost irrelevant. Unless it's a youngster who I think may aswell be given  a chance presuming we're not renewing Bassong contract.

I'd like to see the Howson Tettey midfield broken up. Saying that Wes doesn't deserve a start after what must have been his worst game this season on Friday.

I actually don't think we're good enough at the moment to only play two in the middle. I'd add Dorrans or Godfrey in there. Play Jacob just off Oliviera and Pritchard a free role behind them two. Not that Pritchard was any better than Wes who at least tracked back!

Irvine said he would be "using the squad" so I'd hope to see some changes, not many covered themselves in glory on Friday. I didn't think Pritch was as bad as Wes, but wouldn't be surprised to see neither, and have Naismith back in.

I can't see many options (assuming Dorrans still unavailable) other than Tettey and Howson. Tettey has been pretty good the last few games actually.

I reckon we'll see Bassong alongside Martin.

Actually thought Howson and Tettey were the only ones really carrying the fight against Fulham in the first half. The only urgency came from them.

Pritchard seems to have got away with being lazy and sh*t (apart from the ball in for Jerome).

Pritch and Wes need to synch their schedules so that they both don't have stinkers on the same day  ;)

I think Pritchard basically having a free role in that second half sometimes makes him look more busy and active than he is. Whereas Wes was on the left and consistently helping back defensively.

I don't think Howson or Tettey were particularly poor on Friday but as a pair when did they last dominate and control midfield?

Absolutely. Busy doing nothing. Bradley Johnson used to do a bit of that.

I agree about Howson and Tettey. Though I think it's a reflection of the balance of the team, which hasn't been right for a long time.

Would like to see a few youngsters blooded. Don't know if Maddison's fit but as I've been saying for weeks I would love him to get a chance. Wouldn't be against trying Oliveira and Jerome up top together, think Jerome will be in the side regardless.

Preston are a good side. I was impressed by them when we played them at home a few months ago. Don't think there's any chance we'll win. Most likely we'll lose.

Going to be a bit awkward when he turns out to be not that special.

I was thinking about that the other day actually, I don't have any doubt that the kid has a lot of talent and self-belief, but in hindsight the decision to turn down the chance to complete a full season at Aberdeen should set some alarm bells ringing. At his age he should be motivated to get as much football as possible. Aberdeen are quite a big club having an excellent season, one for the history books really (2nd place, European qualification, then normal service resumes and the Old Firm dominate again for a century).

I found it a bit odd at the time, that he asked to remain at Norwich instead of return and it makes me wonder whether he believes his own hype because of his price tag and too many pats on the back. Has played just 60 odd games, hasn't 'made it' yet. He followed it up by making some comments about the SPL being League One standard. Its true, but Maddison has only played about 30 games in League One and never completed a full season at any level.

Game is full of kids who are hyped up for a couple of years and start to believe their own hype and think they've made it. Maddison should look at what Jacob Murphy was doing last season, which was playing a full season in League One for Maddison's old side.... getting the experience he needed. Maddison sneered his nose up at doing precisely what Jacob Murphy went and did last season.

It may be that Alex Neil exaggerated his chances of actually getting some football for us this season, but it didn't sound like it because if he was needed here it wouldn't have been Maddison's decision to make.

Tl,dr: Its a bit concerning that Maddison felt Aberdeen was beneath him, after 60 professional games.

But I do think we should play him, in all four of our remaining games. Tell him to show that he should be here next season instead of out on loan. Soon find out if he's ready or not.
