Nice to get back to proper football after that international nonsense.

Will Alex wield the axe after the last game? Will Pinto be fit, could we see Whittaker back?

I shall be attending this, and I have a 100% away win record so far this season, so don't worry, I got this.

It won't happen but I'd like to see three centre backs. In a kind of 5311 formation.  It's a bit Italia 90 but if all else fails...

Ruddy, Bassong, Tettey, Naismith, Jacob and Oliveira all come in, McGovern, Klose, Thompson, Pritchard, Hoolahan and Jerome all drop out.

All a bit desperate really. Can't blame Neil for making wholesale changes but don't think Klose, Hoolahan and Jerome really should've been dropped. At least he has made changes though. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

With Ruddy back in goal, the defense will be better.

I wish I was wrong about AN but the evidence is overwhelming. The club should have acted at the end of last season.

Different players, same formation and approach.   If it's not the players then.......

He has lost the plot, time for him to go.

But once again we've twiddled our thumbs and allowed other clubs to win the sack race and hoover up all of the half decent unemployed managers.

I'd have been well up for Warnock or Holloway on a short term deal, with a big bonus and a long term contract if they could get us up (or at least to the play-off final),either would have shaken the playing squad into life. Or the feel good factor associated with the return of the messiah, even if it is possible that he was over rated as a manager and got very lucky the feel good factor with the fans would have rubbed off on the players for at least the short term.

I can't see many better options than to just go and steal Mick McCarthy from Ipswich. He's a good manager getting the best out of a sh*t squad which he has had to assemble from the dole queue, and actually understands this league, lets go and get him.

(Sorry Morty, I know you don't want McCarthy, popped onto the Pink'un!).

That would very much seem like a step sideways for me.

If we're going to go to the bother of sacking and hiring, it should at least be for someone better.

Lambert would have been my first choice.

For some reason I've never had the appetite for a Lambert return until this season, probably because the barrier to that happening no longer exists (Bowkett and McNally).

I guess that some members of the board hold their own grudge towards Lambert, even if his personal gripe was towards those two.

Then again, I'm probably being a bit presumptuous because perhaps Lambert himself didn't have any appetite to risk his legacy here. His record here is probably the only thing which renders him employable, so if he came back and flopped it would be the end of his career at this level and any chance of ever landing the Celtic job and maybe he knows that.

I don't want to be arrogant but I think we can do better than a Warknock or McCarthy. I've said for a while now I'd love Gary Rowett here and you'd think that we'd be able to pull him away from Birmingham. Failing him I'd probably have Marc Walburton as first choice, whether he'd want to leave Rangers for us though is another issue, but it's probably going to be the best shot of his career so far to get into the Premier League so I think he'd at least consider it. Aside from those two I can't think of any appointments that would genuinely please me, though I'm sure there are many I haven't thought of. Whilst I do think Neil's time here is up I wouldn't want us to sack him with nobody better lined up.

I also noticed that Neil is 12/1 to be the new Scotland manager if Gordon Strachan was to be sacked. That'd be interesting.

Dunno about that really. He doesn't have the best record in club football. Wouldn't fill me with loads of confidence.
