Just fact checked that Morty and its true if just comparing the starting XI for the two fixtures.
But Jamal Lewis came on as a sub, Hanley started who missed out today through injury, and Vrancic started last time and featured today.
I actually think we may be a better side with Krul in it over Gunn, he's brilliant with his feet isn't he... like an extra outfield player. Starting to look like a huge coup to get him on a freebie now that he's growing in confidence. Gunn was alright with his feet but Krul is a sweeper keeper, looks like he could have been a handy outfield player as a kid (a professional footballer, can't remember which one, once said that Bryan Gunn had the ability to be an outfield player if he'd chosen that path!).
Who else has forgotten that we own Ivo Pinto by the way? I considered him crucial last season, now he's our backup right back.
I now wonder whether he was for sale in the summer and Passlack was brought in for that reason, but then Pinto didn't get a move for whatever reason. I expect him to leave in January, won't get much for him though because he can sign a pre-contract on 31st January with any team overseas (or Scotland).
This team does seem really fully of energy and like everybody is working hard for each other at the moment, which I guess is what Farke has always been trying to achieve (and why Oliviera isn't wanted). Josh Murphy was always a bit of a reluctant defender also wasn't he... I said when we sold him that I didn't think he really suited our system.
What worries me though is how we are going to replace Timm Klose..... Joel Lynch is supposed to be a 'ball playing' centre defender and his passing was terrible today, Leistner doesn't look anything special and he was a transfer target previously.
Klose is out of contract next summer.... and I think he's more important to our side than many give him credit for, when you look at the complete lack of finesse of the centre backs at most other Championship sides. Unless the plan is to slowly integrate Ben Godfrey into our defence over the course of this season.
I'm hoping that Klose signs a Tettey style cut price deal to stay now that Switzerland have shown themselves willing to pick him whilst playing in the Championship. But it wouldn't surprise me at all if Klose is on mega money considering his prior CV, could just be an unrealistic hope.
