They've been quietly impressive under their fairly rookie manager. The bookies odds are slightly in West Brom's favour.
Would also love to see Makama add to his tally from a starting place rather than as a late sub.

Their 'keeper made a couple of good saves but otherwise they didn't have to try hard to get those 3 points.

A worrying sign this early on.

I found the first half boring but felt we at least matched West Brom but their one chance they buried. There were a few signs of progress in the second half in terms of speed of play and passing. And quite honestly, felt we deserved at least and equaliser through Jovon and Crnac. But it wasn't to be.
The pluses were also Mahovo returning, Makama, as well as Mattsson. Jurasek and Crnac had decent games but they need something positive to break for them.
For the first team I didn't think I was watching a relegation threatened team. So, I guess that marked a change.
A bit unlucky.
Still baffled by Manning and his match selections but I'm not going to be a full -on critic like many posters on the Pinkun who seem hell bent on finding anything negative about the club. The present situation isn't great and I am totally non-plussed with Manning but can't find myself wanting not to support the team. What all this means for Poor Man's Road at the weekend I don't know. I'm not confident though. There again, some kind of performance could change our season? Lose and we could be in the bottom 4 teams.
A difficult watch at the moment and not at all what I expected from those pre season days of optimism. It's still possibly too early to write us off but I doubt we are going to trouble the.playoffs.

It was better than it has been, but that’s not saying much.
On another day most would leave the ground saying we were a touch unlucky not to get a point, but with results the way they have been there’s understandably very little patience for that point of view.
Also we were lucky to scramble a draw in both of the last away games so we can’t moan too much if luck deserted us today

The most recent person to blame is Neil Adams
And Zoe Webber.... and even the fans!....half of whom at least aren't apparently 'real' fans.

Anyone who has properly followed us for 40 or 50+ years will know that there's no such thing as a continuous high - as a supporter of any team. There's a lot to be worried about but I think there's some signs of a fight in the team.

And overall in the world right now our day to day concerns about our football team need to be put into perspective. Just not worth getting depressed or so angry about it. Maybe I'm old and have seen it all before. The late 90s were especially grim until Worthy came.

If somebody is to blame then ultimately it has to be Knapper in my opinion. It’s his job to pick the manager and buy the players to suit his style of play, and on that note I think he’s failed miserably. He’s had a lot of money to spend for this level (probably as much as Webber and Farke had to spend on the last top flight campaign) and so far he’s managed a mediocre mid table finish and what’s looking like a relegation battle.
Mannings style of play is horrendously dull though. Even if we now start winning (can’t see it personally) I think too many fans have already made their mind up and he’ll only ever be a couple of poor results from it turning again

I don't "blame" anyone specifically, and I doubt that Knapper deliberately bought poor players.

I wouldn't underestimate changing your manager and about 60% of your first team, all in one go...

Nobody buys them deliberately, but ultimately he’s paid quite handsomely (and has been given quite of lot to spend) to identify and buy players to make us competitive, something I don’t think he’s done particularly well. Our best signing in my opinion is Darling, and I wonder if that was more Manning led as it’s seemingly completely different to all our other “data led” purchases.
I also agree that constantly chopping and changing isn’t helpful, but it’s much harder to say just give it time if you’re flirting with relegation

Data led purchases got us Emi Buendia...
One swallow doesn’t make a summer though.
It also wasn’t Knappers data, it was Webbers. I’m hoping it comes right, unfortunately I just can’t see it at present
