Its a cup game and we're Norwich thats to be expected.

I'd like to see this one given over entirely to youth and squad players:

                Rudd

Gafaiti    Turner   Miquel   Garrido

         McGrandles McGeehan

   Loza       King      Murphy

              Lafferty

Whats the worst that could happen? We get knocked out of a cup against a lower league side? We should be used to that by now.

I'm not particularly bothered about this one to be honest. As much as I would love a cup run I would rather that this season we focus on trying to get back to the Premier League.

Team:

Rudd
Martin Turner Miquel Garrido
Odjidja
Jacob M -------------- Josh M
Hoolahan
Grabban Lafferty

That's assuming that Odjidja is fit, if not I'd play McGrandles there. Would like to see Hoolahan start, and Lafferty play up top for the first time as well. It'll also be nice if Grabban can get a goal or two, to help him get back to his early season form.

If Preston put a full-strength team out then it will be a good game. I think we will just edge it though. 2-1 Norwich.

Rudd

E.Bennett Turner Miquel Garrido

McGeehan O'Neill

Murphy Hoolahan Lafferty

Grabban

Bunn Whittaker R.Bennett King Murphy McGrandles Loza

Lets give some of our squad some minutes, see what they can do, see if they can force there way into the starting lineup for the next league game. Its not a point of resting anyone, we have a big squad and as you can only play 3 over aged players in the U21 games lets give some fringe senior players an opportunity to show what they have too.

Is Garrido fit again? If so, he should certainly play. I'd keep Ryan Bennett in to but his game-time, but either Turner or Miquel with him would be a good shout. It'd be good for McGeehan to get a game, but I suspect we'll see either Johnson or Tettey there to keep it tight. Wes needs a start and the 4-2-3-1 looks right to me.

Looking forward to welcoming a proper club to Deepdale again tomorrow.

I am not convinced we have the firepower to trouble you tomorrow but we'll see.

We usually make it hard for teams to score so 1 is usually enough but it'll be a good test for how far we've come since the horrendous Westley days.

One thing is for sure, Declan Rudd will get a heroes welcome tomorrow. He left without really getting a chance to say bye and the PNE fans think a lot of him and what he did for the club whilst he was here. I hope he plays and we get a chance to show our appreciation to him and Norwich for lending him to us.

Anyhow, I obviously hope we can progress but regardless of the result tomorrow, good luck for the rest of the season and fingers crossed you can get back up to the PL.

I'd probably like to see Howson rested. Though that could result in a lack of pace in midfield.

Would like Grabban to get a run.

And I'd also like to see Turner given the chance to make a point - though it might not get him anywhere.

Cheers to the home fan - travelling over with the family today as my wife has relatives nearby so they'll be out shopping while I'm at the game

I don't think any of us would be confident after already going out the league cup this season at an L2 side and our usual cup record but I've never been to Preston before so looking forward to it.

If we lose, then after the game I will be saying, that's fine we can concentrate on the league........BUT, I would love a Cup run and feel that we have a strong enough squad to handle it and that it would help the squad's confidence at a difficult time. So, I will be frustrated if we feel a completely different eleven as for me that would be very dangerous even considering the strong squad.

Thanks for the kind words missionary. What did you mean by a 'proper' Club? Is that meant as a pop at other teams in your League?

I would also love a Cup run, but can understand Neil putting a 'different' side out. I like the look of ZLF's team, but perhaps using a Murphy instead of Redders.

How do the fans that are going today (not me unfortunately),paying out hard earned cash look upon this? Happy just to be seeing 11 yellow and green shirts possibly winning a football match, or feel that their money justifies a 'First' team?

Rudd should be playing, Missionary. I think it's going to be tight, possibly a replay, but I hope not.

Good to see you doing well again and best of luck for promotion back to the Championship!

I am sitting watching Football Focus and the magic of the Cup is still there for me. The programme is at Blyth and everything from the old fashioned dressing rooms and a pitch that will cut up after 20 minutes is so nostalgic and seasonal. I went to Paulton a few years back and loved every minute of it.

The clinical and sterile game that we see today does not hold any affection for me and if I could get NCFC out of my blood, I doubt I would bother with the professional game.

No Rudd, looks like Neil is taking this more seriously than recent managers
