Some interesting facts from the BBC:

MATCH FACTSHead-to-head

  • Norwich and Crystal Palace have met 104 times in the league, each winning on 43 occasions.
  • The two sides last met in the Premier League on New Year's Day 2014. The match ended 1-1 with goals from Jason Puncheon and Bradley Johnson.
  • Palace have only lost two of their last seven visits to Carrow Road, winning three of their last five.
Norwich City

  • Norwich have failed to win any of their last 12 opening weekend fixtures, losing six and and drawing six.
  • The Canaries scored the third highest amount of goals and conceded the third least number of goals in the Championship last season.
  • No Championship midfielder scored more goals last term than Bradley Johnson, who finished level with Matt Ritchie and Bakary Sako on 15.
Crystal Palace

  • Crystal Palace have lost their last four season openers.
  • If last season's Premier League had started when Alan Pardew took over at Crystal Palace, the Eagles would have finished sixth.
  • They earned a Premier League club record 48 points to finish in the top half for the first time.

Put Jerome up front with Bony in my Fantasy team - Just got a feeling about him today. Watch us start with Grabban now...
Interesting to see what 'the complete striker' can do against PL opposition. I would have started with Jerome.

Well predicted! Either Grabban is putting up an incredible shift in training or Jerome must have some sort of niggly injury... I would have started Jerome, Grabban couldn't hit a barn door pre season

Might be a psychological thing, Lewis Grabban making his Premier League debut against the team who rejected him as a youngster? Point to prove?

TEAM: Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin (c),Bassong, Brady; Howson, Dorrans, Tettey, Johnson; Hoolahan; Grabban.

SUBS: Rudd (GK),Wisdom, Jerome, Hooper, Redmond, R Bennett, O'Neil.

Bit worried about our full backs today against a team with so much pace, but I guess our midfielders will have been told they are expected to help out with that.

I think the reason for him picking Grabban is that he feels that's the best choice for his system. He probably expects most of the goals to come from midfield and isn't that worried about Grabban not being too clinical.

Bugger. So much for ESP...  Oh well, lets hope Grabban justifies his selection. And to think I dropped Stones to include Jerome today. If Stones keeps a clean sheet and scores today I'll be miffed!

Grabban's profligacy cost us that half. We need to buy someone who can put chances like that away.

Hmmm, disappointing. Both teams had spells on top. Just good wing play or their goal and Zaha doing what he should at the back post. Not sure there's too much you can do about that, perhaps the marking on Zaha could be questioned. We've played some nice football but not too many clear cut chances

Leaving Zaha unmarked at the far post didn't help things.

Still plenty of football to be played, both teams have a very strong bench, looking forward to the Redmond-Jerome-Wisdom triple substitution.

Palace did look the most likely to score for most of the first half though.

What the F was that disallowed for? Had every right to go for that.

Seriously? Jerome's strike is disallowed for a high foot? How can that be disallowed when he scores?
