It was only about 4 weeks ago that we played each other last, and now we find ourselves coming up each other again. However I feel much more confident going into this one than I did last time out, even though we are away this time. Since the 29th of November when we last met, we have taken 10 points from a possible 12, and have scored 14 goals in the process, although 11 of those have come at home.

Hard to know what team we'll see here. Adams has said that he will make changes, which is understandable considering we only played 2 days before this. It's hard to know whether we'll revert back to the 4 centre midfielders that we've seen in away games recently, or whether he'll stick with Redmond who has been excellent. It's also unclear whether Tettey and Cuellar will be fit, after Tettey missed out against Millwall, and Cuellar came off with an injury towards the end. We do have brilliant strength in depth, so it would be a bit odd not to use it, however I don't think we'll see any drastic changes.

I'll predict:

Ruddy
Whittaker Martin Turner Olsson
Redmond Howson Tettey O'Neil Johnson
Jerome

Hooper played the whole game on Friday, so I don't think we'll see him feature in this one. I think we'll try and pack the midfield as we have done in previous away games, but perhaps change it slightly to accommodate Redmond. Don't think Cuellar will be able to start considering this game has come around so quickly after Boxing day, and I think maybe the reason Tettey didn't feature today was perhaps so that he was fit for this.

God I hate predicting us to win, so I'll say 1-1. I am feeling quite positive though.

If we win and Watford don't win, we enter the top 6.

If we draw and Watford lose, we will enter the top 6 on goal difference.

What a huge boost that would be.

I am expecting a couple of changes, but a steady first half like we have generally been seeing since the arrival of MP, and then opening up in the second half with the introduction of some quality off the bench.....oh, and a win, no less should we accept OTBC

I don't think Cueller and Tettey are going to make it, so I think Redmond will play through default, rather than choice (or maybe McGrandles?) so the only other choice is Turner or Bennett in for Cueller.

How did McGrandles look on Boxing Day?

And out of interest.... did he look to be around 6ft or around 6ft 4"?

He looked tall, couldn't put an exact figure on it though lol.

He looked okay actually, bit hard to tell though as he was a token inclusion, the game was pretty much already won.

He didn't look out of place though, which has to be a good thing.

I was going to ask that as well, so thanks Morty. I thought the formation with Redmond in worked well, though it does mean Howson has to drop deeper. Johnson seems to be settling in well to his new role on the left, though he does say he played there for Leeds at times. I seem to remember Lambert playing him there as well a few times.

You know what, and this won't be popular, but I can see why Redmond has been left out. Great going forward but really could do with doing a bit more for the team.

I'd like to see Hoolahan start, he's been playing some cracking through balls recently

Once were comfortable on Friday (3 and 4 up) I was expecting Redmond to be taken off and preserved for today.

I was quite happy that we were pressing for more goals (especially as I had £1 on a 6-0 win for us!) but was thinking of the bigger picture. The non removal of Redmond might have an influence on todays team, we will see

I thought Howson was having a quiet game on Friday, and thought if he could have more involvement we would be awesome. I needn 't have worried! In fact I realised that it was because of BJ's role, and Tettey's injury, and it worked very well.

Ruddy; Whittaker, Martin ©, Bennett, Olsson; Howson, O'Neil, Tettey, Johnson; Hooper, Jerome

Subs: Rudd (GK),Turner, Grabban, Lafferty, Hoolahan, Miquel, Redmond.

Looks like Cuellar out through injury, Tettey back in for Redmond.

I think that's just about what most of us expected, personally prefer Turner, but no problem at all with Bennett coming in. What is striking is the strength of our bench!

And on the subject of the team, I'm disappointed not to see Redmond start. I would like us to find a way to accommodate him away from home, which this 4 central midfielders formation doesn't do. However the team selection is understandable considering the last couple of away games, and will hopefully it will have the same effect today.

Don't forget that Reading have also played two days ago, and our starting team has more than enough to dominate Reading, but then we can bring Redmond on for the last half an hour, when Reading will be creamy crackered.............

Pleased to see Tettey back for this one and Redmond will get his impact sub role in the second half.

Haven't managed to find a link, so just watching West Ham vs Arsenal with the game on the radio in the background, sounds like we're having the better of it so far, without creating too much. Watford and Brentford are both losing though, so if we can get a goal we'll temporarily go 5th.
