I am not saying that I said so but the Murphy boys did not look out of place today.  I think they will have a part to play and that those doubters perhaps did not follow just how much progress they made last season. 

Didn't look out of place agaist P'boro.

We are hoping to get out of this league, not just look ok against P'boro.

Can we start the season with a bit more positivity after after last season's disappointments. As a performance went, Boyerboy said they didn't look out of place and would have a part to play. That is a positive comment.

It was a friendly with real fruit salad line ups. Accept it for what it is.

I just like to mix positivity with a bit of reality.

Last year a lot of people thought Toffolo was going to be in contention to play Premier League football because he had been around the squad in pre season and had "impressed".

Well it has only been 6 league games.

Clearly they have something but this season has a long way to go yet. Still a lot to prove - but that's not to say they can't prove it.

their season will have inconsistencies and both will need a period of rest at some stage;   both twins games on sat was a summary of their season so far,  lots of encouraging features (especially finishing) but clear signs that they have some way to improve yet and periods where they were poor.

They are both just 1 year younger than redmond but more than a year behind in terms of development & ability;   however its an encouraging start for Jacob in particular with their year on loan showing that system has worked for them as players and us as a club.     I look forward to seeing them continue to improve and add consistency this season

So, yes. They do have a part to play this season. More to the point, they already have.

What I like about this Murphy situation is that they are going to be pushing each other hard, need to keep them both at the club. 

Josh Murphy was the first to get his chance with us and Jacob was dismissed as the inferior player, Josh went to the Championship last season whilst Jacob was in League 1. 

Then Jacob comes in and starts the season with a worldie and completely changes the order of things. 

They are going to keep raising the bar for each other. 

Its a shame we didn't have the other Olsson twin really, what with our scarcity of left backs.
