Oh OK, so let me respond to OldRobert first.....

I am being realistic, when compared to all the other clubs next season in The Championship, with the exception of Newcastle, we will be in the best position when it comes to the amount we can spend on the squad, even compared to Villa I believe. When you factor in that we will certainly lose a couple at least for decent fees, then it is realistic to expect what I have outlined, and for our club to have a very strong squad with excellent strength in depth at the level we will be playing. As for how much it will cost,the club when compared to others will be in a position to spend the appropriate amount of money and I suspect this will be carefully budgeted, the base is clearly there.

Gaffer, I wasnt actually bench marking us against the Binners, just used their name to emphasise the gap that there will be between us and them once again when it comes to available resources , considering I am a City supporter that's a common thing to do at such times. Having said that, they did actually finish seventh,which shows what can be done, but at the end of the day, as I mentioned in a previous thread on here, next season I feel will be about who comes behind Newcastle, so on that we can agree, I also agree that we cannot be complacent.

Don't know why people are handing the championship to Newcastle already. Benitez might be a decent manager but he will know nothing about that division. He will probably have to replace a number of players too and will be shopping in tesco instead of waitrose. Factor in Ashley and a lot could go wrong.

For those who haven't seen, Klose has been left off Switzerland's provisional squad for the Euros.

Now I realize he could still be placed on the final squad, but coming back from a knee injury to be ready for international duty in two months surely isn't an easy or likely thing to do.  A part of me feels this could help to swing him towards staying with Norwich. Not being on an international stage for everyone to see his talents being a huge factor in that feeling.  But, I can't help but feel it isn't going to matter and he is headed for the door regardless.

He has been a joy to watch on the pitch, even if it was only 10 matches.  He seems to have really clicked with AN in his 5 short months at Norwich.  He carries himself in a way that seems to be disappearing from the game.  A way that shows he respects the game and enjoys being a part of it.  If he does end up leaving, I will end up wishing him all the best.  But maybe, just maybe, he will surprise all of us and stay on with Norwich and be a key part of the squad.

People writing Aston Villa off should consider that the new owner is promising the new manager (possible di Matteo) £50 million to spend. And Benitez is negotiating his transfer kitty. It could be a struggle to recruit the best Championship players with that money sloshing around.

I think you have got to expect both Newcastle and Villa to be up there competing for promotion. We have to make sure we are doing the same.

I'm not seeing many teams we couldn't compete with financially. Obviously Villa and Newcastle but I'd certainly have our starting point than Villas. I know Wednesday are loaded and willing to spend if they don't promote and Fulham's owner is one of the richer owners but they don't really seem to be going that route as a club.

Can't imagine too many players picking Derby, Brighton, Hull, Robert's lot down the road or Cardiff over us that's for sure.

The best thing about this is that the euro's are this summer, so Klose now has 12 months to get himself to a top division side to get into a world cup squad, so he doesn't really have to leave this summer, could be different in a years time if we don't go up this season though

Both of those managers purchased players who could realistically give us 5+ years of good football, and that is literally the only reason that Alex Neil had a squad good enough to get us up last season, thankfully Neil Adams didn't get long enough to f*ck us up, because the likes of Hooiveld and Cuellar were the types of signings we could have expected from Glenn Roeder and Bryan Gunn. 

i get a bit annoyed by the slating of gunns signings. Clearly they were not premier league but they didn't have to be; they couldn't be.  What they were were players that would ultimately help us gain promotion at virtually no cost. 

ive been told elsewhere that the outgoings were forced on gunn and he cannot take credit for the dross leaving. Maybe so, I don't know but I do know that what he managed to keep hold off proved their worth for many years. 

The incomings were very successful. For every wiggins or Whaley (who must have costs us about 10 quid between them) there was a nelson or askou who were more than capable at doing the job they were asked to perform. And then there is our greatest ever signing. Or maybe that was forced on him too, by an OAP

People are entitled to have pops at the board after a relegation. Making a personal attack on a poster is totally unnecessary. The best thing to do is focus on the issue rather than the person posting. That's what makes this the best Norwich forum.

Gary O'Neil reportedly offered a new deal according to ESPN, a bit confusing as the headline in the article says he's offered a new deal but when reading it there's no quotes from the player or the club to back it up, I'd be happy for him to stay though.
