I was thinking that as I watched the game mate.

Athough I think we've just got more pace in the side now to be honest..... look at the kids Farke has promoted.... Aarons, Lewis, Cantwell, all have a good turn of pace. Middleton is a tricky player and has quick feet but isn't really all that quick from what I can remember, more of a Snodgrass.

I'm not getting majorly optimistic yet though, one injury to Pukki and we'll have to go back to the drawing board to accommodate Rhodes.... who has no pace at all, that may be when we need Ben Marshall in the side.

Yes agree that the squad has much better balance. Despite that I still think we need one of our midfielders to take change more, Leitner is getting there but needs to step up more and impose himself on games. Having seen Vrancic for a few minutes at Reading he could well do that, what an improved player he is! When it comes to Pukki, sure if he gets an injury it will be a blow, he is not only on top form but also a bit of a talisman already, but the squad should be able to take it, plus I actually think Rhodes is excellent, as demonstrated on Wednesday when he had such an impact on managing the game out, looked class I thought. We have some glimmers....I have actually started to smile again......

I didn't say I didn't rate him, but clearly if Pukki got injured and we relied on Rhodes to score goals then we'd need to set up in a way which creates chances for him in an around the six yard box.... he's a completely different player to Pukki, a target man.

Two words Mark, Kenny Mclean.

I reckon it will end up being McLean in the number 10 spot currently occupied by Stiepermann. Not saying that he isn't worth his shirt at the minute (clearly is),but of all our playmakers it is McLean who is most likely to offer a goal threat.

Will be Vrancic and Leitner challenging for a deeper role alongside Tettey or Trybull..... and Stiepermann will revert to being more of a squad / utility player like Gary O'Neill as the season progresses, coming on to see out games or coming in to give somebody a rest. Plus he's our backup left back now isn't he.

Not sure Mclean actually has enough about him to displace Stiepermann at the minute. Although itll be nice to have him as an option again.

Just read David Freezer, last time Rhodes played against Wycombe, he was with Huddersfield and scored 5 goals during a 6 goals win.
