As a resident of Milwaukee (But not a Norwich supporter) I turned in from home to have a listen!
What I can say is what he has done with that team stadium and facility is immense. The Brewers won their division beating the huge money making machine that is Chicago Cubs consistently. They didn’t quite make the World Series but it has equivalency to Norwich making the top six in the Premier League
I am an English expat before anyone asks.
I sincerely get the impression that despite his thoughtful tone the chap didn’t do enough research (or others didn’t on his behalf) into what he was getting into.
The fact he has had to backdown to supporters over seating arrangements tells me that he/his minions was treating supporters in the same way as they would be in the USA where the depth of feeling at any game in any sport just scratches the surface.
The bigger issue IMO is the incomings outgoings including the manager.
Mr Manning plays a certain way. (I have watched on many more occasions than anyone at Norwich for sure) His “style” is not what fans want anywhere and is only forgivable if you are winning.
To win players have to buy into the continue recycle and to be frank most players don’t but eventually buy in enough.
That takes time.
My opinion is Norwich made a bad choice in the head coach, based upon one sixth placed finish.
The owner tonight repeatedly referred to the consistent success of Mr Manning and his style. That’s someone pulling the wool over his eyes because it is simply not true!
