Just had an excellent text from my scum supporting friend (who supported Man Utd the first 17 years of his life, but since McCarthy turned it around supports them instead....typical)  about the Brighton result. It read:

'Knew it would happen. Always the case when the big boys are in town, they up their game'.

Can't blame them for enjoying their first taste of success in god knows how long, bless 'em.  It'll make it all the more sweeter when they fall.

I actually had a bit of an argument with a scum fan in the pub not too long ago. I overheard him telling his mate about how man for man he thinks Ipswich's squad is stronger than ours, and that Luke Hyam is better than any of our midfielders. He then said that Dean Gerken is much better than Ruddy which I genuinly laughed out loud at, he obviously then heard me laugh and then he started on me

The fact is though there's fans like that for every team, I imagine the majority of Ipswich fans are just like us, the only exception being that they support a sh*t team.

Good luck to them. I bear no ill will to them. If they go up then they deserve to. The only niggle I have is the MMC is the darling of the media and they keep telling us he assembled the squad for 10K. That isn't the real truth by any means but suits the purpose of extolling the virtues of the manager as the King Midas of football.

The Binners may tone things down a bit when they see that the City have moved above them to 4th favourite for promotion across the board in Oddschecker!

That's amusing, and while those odds probably just reflect the way money is being bet at the moment, at the same time you can't help feeling the binners league position flatters them at the moment, same for all the top 6 TBH. 

Tomorrow is a big game for us I feel.  Get 3 points and suddenly we're only 5 points off top spot with 19 games to go.  if we drop points, we lose the momentum we've started to get at the moment.  Fingers crossed !

In fairness Mick McCarthy is the reason they are doing so well and should be taking the credit for that, they are lucky to have him. Can hardly credit their board and their squad isn't anything to write home about, so somebody has to take the credit for their season so far. If they fail to win promotion this season I suspect McCarthy will leave to a team more geared towards Premier League football and they'll return to their rightful place in the bottom half.
