Hopefully he'll see sense and realise he would have a far better chance of ever getting into the first team here.

We have though, had a policy of hoping that a gem would come through to make it in the first team and make a profit selling / loaning those not quite there.
To sell a talent to one of the 'bigger' teams I'm not sure was in the game plan.
I can't see the club selling a talent who would be good enough for the first team.

The trouble is, that there isn't a thing in the world that will stop "bigger" teams taking players off "smaller" ones.
If we rate him enough then we need to get him nailed down with a pro contract, or his head could get turned.

One of the Murphy's was offered an obscene increase in wages to defect to Chelsea but was talked out of it by his parents. Big clubs just hoover up young talent and then cherry pick. Immensely bad for the game and the development of young players.
