Anyone going?

I learned my lesson last season away at Everton, it went to extra time and pens, and the club cabbage coaches didn't get home till about 4am!

Hopefully we'll see Oliveira tonight!

Everton have an ok team out but I'll think we will find it tough.

Now The Mirror claims Everton want to buy both the Murphy twins:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-eye-double-transfer-swoop-8886022

I'm fairly sure they'll stay out of loyalty at least until the end of the season and if we get promoted then for a full season in the Prem too.
Will be a travesty if we lose these two. Every week which passes without them being tied to a new contract they must add a couple of grand to their weekly wage expectations.

Tie them down whilst we still can. I said a few weeks ago that these would be the best signings we could make and it doesn't look like I'll be changing my mind anytime soon.

Neither are the finished article but both can already do what Redmond still hasn't mastered in 5 years of solid football, they've got the end product.

(Although if Redmond can master that at Southampton he'd end up at a top 4 side).

I think we are somewhat protected by the tribunal system too, because they are under whatever the age is, 24 is it?

No one is having them away for less than they are worth. And I think the Everton story is just a bit of lazy journalism.

Tribunals don't ever seem to give the losing club the market value though. The record tribunal fee was £6.5m rising to £1.5m for Danny Ings who'd got into double figures in the Premier League with Burnley.

Vydra went to Derby for £8m after scoring just 3 goals in the Championship last season, for perspective.

We'd get something for them because they are under 24, but better for all concerned that they just do the sensible thing and each sign a long contract soon.

A 12 year contract with an option for a 3 year extension tomorrow morning would do nicely  :D

I read from that Mustard TV clip I posted "Calm down, its all in hand"!

And I think the lads have their feet on the ground too, whenever I hear them speak it sounds like they have a bit of loyalty to the club.

I'd expect a 5 year deal announced for them both soon, we get promoted at the end of the season, they rip up the Premiership the following season, and we sell them for 35 million each!

When I replied to Gaffer I hadn't watched the clip, but certainly does sound like its a priority.

I don't think either would want to leave yet anyway, they both seem to have their feet on the ground enough to know that they are best off getting regular football here for a few years instead of risking going back to U23 football and three month loans to wherever.

I hope they are that sensible anyway. They should look at what happened to Jack Rodwell when he moved to Man City at 21, he went there being labelled as the new Gerrard and then spent two years in the wilderness. Sunderland fans don't rate him.

Redmond had 206 games under his belt before stepping up to Southampton, both the Murphy's have about 120 to go before they have that level of experience.

A bit off topic - and he clearly wasn't at the Murphy's level - but its sad to see that Jamar Loza didn't pick up a club this summer.

Yeah real shame that, I watched him a few times in youth games, and he certainly had something about him, very odd that he hasn't found a club!

Apparenlty had trials with Colchester, Southend, and Inverness but not got any offers. Hopefully not one of those players who are amazing at youth level but just can't cut it at senior level, like Adrian Coote.

You'd expect him to be able to make some sort of living out of the game, even if it means having to go and play in Sweden or Australia or something. Looking like the original Ronaldo in Singapore or somewhere random is surely preferable to working in a call centre at Aviva and turning out for Lowestoft Town.

Bally Smart was another one, what on earth happened to him? I can remember he was incredibly fast and went to play on loan at MK Dons under Paul Ince, then just dissapeared.

Lazy journalism sums it up nicely. After all they aré a bit short in that department - just Lennon, Delofeu, Boalsie and Mirallas!
